This happened to me back in 2000-1 when I was a student at UGA, and living in the dorms not even a tenth of a mile away from this location. Given the length of time, I hold no grudge against the current staff, but I recently watched a YouTube video where a Papa John’s employee called the police on a customer over a botched order, and it reminded me of my experience.
The dorm in which I resided was somewhat backwards: The ‘front’ entrance did not face the street, and so what was actually the ‘back’ entrance was effectively the way that 99% of people entered the building. There was a computer lab near this ‘back’ entrance that I frequented, and while spending time there, I’d see countless food delivery personnel make their way inside, check in at the front desk, and use the desk phone to contact the room which placed the order (this was when personal phones weren’t as common).
One evening I placed an order with this Papa Johns, and was given an estimate of 15 minutes for delivery. So I made my way to the computer lab to wait for the driver. After an hour, I realized I’d been waiting an hour, and no Papa John’s driver had walked past the lab. I contacted this branch and was greeted with, “Papa John’s, we’re closed.”
I explained that I had placed an order but never saw the driver in the entrance hallway. The short tempered staff member on the phone informed me that the driver had somehow managed to go to the ‘true’ front entrance of the building, and thus skipped the hallway near the computer lab. This meant that instead of using a door immediately adjacent to the designated short term parking area, this driver chose to walk around the entire outside of the building, in the dark, to use the entrance that no one ever used. When they called my room, my roommate answered, but he didn’t know I had placed an order! A perfect storm of missed opportunities. Yeah, shame on me for not being there to answer the phone on my end, but this was literally the first time a delivery driver had used the wrong entrance to the building.
I asked that my order be fulfilled and the employee hung up on me. I contacted the branch the next day, but the manager was clueless and of zero assistance. I hope that things have improved in the quarter century since this incident occurred; when I subsequently ordered from them, I made sure to tell the staff that I would meet the driver in the hallway.
I still like Papa John’s, but I rarely get delivery, instead relying only on myself to make sure the food gets to the right place at the right time.

Shout out to the Baxter location and the manager. Ordered a delivery, DoorDash sucked, delivered cold pizza in a cold box. Couldn't get DoorDash on the phone. Called Baxter, they made me another pizza and the manager delivered it himself. DoorDash sucks. Baxter Domino's is great. Thanks.

Papa John's pizza used to be my favorite pizza between all of their competitor companie and then I went a few years without buying pizza of any kind for health reasons and then last week I was with some friends who wanted to eat pizza so I went to order 2 large pizzas from Papa John's and this last experience with Papa John's I was less than impressed. The pizzas tasted a little under cooked and not only that I had forgotten how expensive Popa John's pizza is at nearly $50 for 2 large pizzas and having delivered pizza for Pizza Hut for over three years I learned that it costs nearly nothing for all the supplies you need to make and top a pizza, meaning that if you are a pizza franchise owner, you're profit margin was higher than any other in the food industry, so then why are consumers paying such high prices for pizza then?

Papa John's doesn't help customers when an order get mixed up. If you pay for it and it gets relocated from one store to the next with out your acknowledgement, you still are charged for it ,even when you don't pick it up. I was done driving around from one place to another because they can't get it straightened out.Mind you I was picking it up off Lexington rd then went there, they were not able to locate it then said it was off epps bridge, not there then was told it's at baxter street?!This was supposed to be a nice easy quick dinner for my mom and son and myself for mother's day.i clipped coupons for this.Never again.Least they could do would put a credit on your account in resolving the issue that was out of your control. Manager said to contact my bank for a refund, that's a bigger issue in itself when it doesn't have to be.What happened to customer service in actually helping resolve the issue??Instead I'm being charged for my order that someone is most likely going to take home tonight for free. Overall,Update your system and online orders . Worst customer service ever. I will never order from here again. Ridiculous.
