After realizing an item was left out of my order, I returned to the drive-thru and pulled directly beside the open service door. The same employee who had served me was only a few feet away. I repeatedly said “excuse me” at least five or six times, loudly enough that customers in another vehicle farther away heard me and were looking toward the window, yet I was not acknowledged. I watched the employee turn away, put his back to me, leaned against the counter, he was clearly doing anything to avoid me and he walked off before eventually returning. When I finally spoke with him, I explained that I had been trying to get his attention and that my ice cream had been left out. I cannot speak to anyone’s intentions, and I don’t want to unfairly accuse someone of something I cannot prove. I can only say that, from where I was sitting, being repeatedly ignored felt deliberate and deeply disrespectful. I did call the restaurant afterward, and the manager was very apologetic, listened to my concerns, offered rewards for the inconvenience, and said the situation would be addressed. I genuinely appreciate how she handled my complaint. Still, this experience affected me enough that I honestly don’t know if I’ll return. At some point, being treated with basic acknowledgment and respect matters more than complimentary food or points.
