I placed an order on Ubereats of fried chicken with 3 sides and it came with a free chicken bowl with a side. Sounded like a good deal to me. I had mac and cheese, greens, and butter beans. For my bowl, I got a leg and thigh and I chose rice and gravy for my side and I also asked for my chicken to be smothered. For starters, the fried chicken was great. It was hot, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. Them sides tho????? Nah bruh. When I tell yall there was no flavor, I mean there was NOOOOO FLAVOR. Josh’s Mom would have at least added salt and pepper yeesh! Next, the free bowl: now granted, it’s “free” but it’s not like I would have gotten the bowl without making an actual purchase. Also, yall remember when I said I had rice and gravy for my side??? Yeah well, the chicken had some gravy on it but if I lift up a piece of chicken, the rice was white. No gravy on top of the rice at all. Furthermore, the gravy was obviously canned/packed/powdered or whatever. I just can’t wrap my mind around a soul food restaurant and no one knows how to make gravy or season the sides. I don’t understand it at all. Look yall, when yall have an order come through Ubereats or DoorDash, your customer could be someone at a truck stop that drives a semi, like me, or it could be someone that’s at a hotel like a flight attendant. My point is this, not only is the food not cheap, but since I don’t live in the area, I don’t really have the luxury of coming into the restaurant and saying, “Excuse me Mr./Ms. Owner/Manager….my order is incorrect or I am dissatisfied.”. People like us are just stuck being disappointed and feeling cheated. All I’m asking, is that you please do better. Respect the fact that people are paying hard earned money for a hot meal. Between these fuel prices, repairs, and unsafe motorists, the very least yall could do is just give us truckers a break and sell us food that’s worth paying for. Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk.😉 PS: Will yall PLEASE remove these AI photos of food???? Using AI pictures to advertise menu items is extremely lazy and misleading. Allow your work to speak for itself because the whole reason I ordered is because of the REAL pics of yall food people posted.

Customer service was great, but food was terrible. I had baked chicken and dressing the baked chicken was salty, the dressing was like not cooked like it was just mixed with all the ingredients but forgot to put it in the oven to cook and it was real salty and peppery , the mashed potatoes was salty, the greens were ohkay but but still salty, the corn bread tasted like it had motor or engine oil in it. I also had the strawberry strumade and it was so sweet it can literally give you high blood sugar mind you this was my 1st time trying them and i spent 34$ i would NOT RECOMMEND

Food is normally good, but they randomly served me spoiled food then tried to pretend it wasn't. Very odd. If you don't have the food I ordered or if something is wrong just call. But to send me spoiled food is very crazy. I was thinking of having them cater an event I had coming up but I'm glad I avoided that potential disaster. Unfortunately they're off my list of good places to eat in town. No refund was provided.

Best soul food in Albany I love the warm, family oriented atmosphere. This is a great place for a family outing or date night. I recommend everyone the soulful and flavor dining available.

Server Nicole was very sweet and had great recommendations of items to try. I had the southern fried chicken dinner with collard greens and mac and cheese and I also had the fried green tomatoes and crab stuffed beignets for an appetizer.
