Good ambiance with comfortable seating, and the service was slow but staff was good. However, the food itself was very average. The meat was not fully cooked, and some of the vegetarian curries were overpowered by one or two spices, which affected the overall flavor.
It’s probably a good choice for couples or a date night, especially if you’re looking for a nice atmosphere to sit, relax, and spend time together. However, for families or larger group gatherings where the food is an important part of the experience, it’s not a good option. We spent $230 between 5 people (2kids) and still not satisfied.

A special thank you to Brijesh, our server, who was incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional. He made sure we had everything we needed and truly made our dining experience even more enjoyable.
We had a fantastic time and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend Jala for a great meal and excellent service! ❤️

Jala Indian Cuisine is one of those restaurants that quietly raises the standard for Indian food in Central Florida.
Right in the heart of Park Avenue, the atmosphere feels polished but welcoming. It's equally suited for a relaxed lunch, a date night, or introducing someone to Indian cuisine for the first time. The dining room is elegant without feeling formal, letting the food remain the centerpiece.
The menu showcases the depth and variety of Indian cooking, from rich curries and fragrant biryanis to freshly baked naan and perfectly balanced tandoori dishes. Every plate arrives with layers of flavor that make you slow down and actually pay attention to what you're eating.
What stood out most was the balance. The spices are bold without overpowering, the presentation is refined without being fussy, and the service makes the experience feel genuinely hospitable from beginning to end.
Winter Park is known for great dining, and Jala has earned its place among the standouts. Whether you're a longtime fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, it's the kind of restaurant that makes you want to come back and work your way through the rest of the menu. 🦩
We placed a pickup order here for the first time this afternoon, and the food was delicious!! I did think the portions were a bit small (at least in the to-go containers; they might be larger if you dine in) for the $24+ menu items. After reading other reviews with gorgeous photos, this appears to be an upscale restaurant that is best experienced in person, and the presentation looks incredible in the reviews! Everything was wonderful, though (Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Chicken Curry, and the garlic naan, roti, and mango lassi), so we'll be back - to dine in!
