This place is a gimmick at best. Our service was terrible, food went to the wrong table, we actually got up and had to get it ourselves and when we mentioned it we got a shrug. My drink sat empty for 15 minutes. Food itself is overpriced and mediocre at best. You’re paying for the rent on Clematis and all their decorations. They make some insanely loud ruckus everytime someone orders a particular dish. We got listen to the noise 3 times in a span of 35 minutes. To top it off, the receipt did not match what I was asked to pay. Waitress had already included a 20% tip for our table of 2 and there was a 4.99 delivery charge on the tab. Don’t believe the hype. Anyone giving 5 star reviews hasn’t had good Mexican food or is being paid to review
Absolutely beautiful restaurant. The food was incredible. The guac and ribeye was so delicious. I’d never had such a thing and I would drive up again just for that.
Food presentations are super cute and fun.
The tortillas are so good and fresh and the birria was flavorful.
I went during lunch and the service was really slow and confusing. The waiter was the bartender. But then it was also the hostess and then a guy from the back. This was the only thing we had an issue with because service and water and the check took really long cause there was no one around.

I usually don’t leave a bad review but this was especially frustrating.
The hostess and server were amazing wonderful people and the place was beautiful but that’s all I can say positive.
I had been to their location in New Orleans and loved the food and they told me about the WPB location so I was excited to try it with my family. I don’t mind paying $$ for great tacos and the NewOrleans locations delivered on taste, but WPB
We got chips and salsa, the taco Tuesday special ribeye bites, two taco Tuesday specials for Al pastor and one order of ribeye tacos from the main menu. My son wanted fries so we got the truffle fries.
Chips and salsa were the highlight, all the salsas were all done and flavorful
Ribeye bites were two small sopes and they had beans and chicharrón but didn’t see any beef
The tacos al pastor were not from a trompo, they were cubed pieces of pork that were red from some seasoning but didn’t taste like any seasoning at all. The taco was completely bland and flavorless, we ended up not eating 3 of the 6
The ribeye tacos plate which was $24 had two tacos and were also completely flavorless, no sides, just a spoonful of guacamole and salsa that was supposedly habanero yogurt, and then there was a red oil that I mistakenly added to the first ribeye taco and immediately regretted it because it tasted like used cooking oil. I don’t know if it was supposed to be salsa macha but it almost made me sick. I don’t know how you make ribeye flavorless but they did and only two tacos on the plate for $24, what the heck. The fries were barely touched and another waste of money, nothing special.
So, 8 bland tacos, sparkling water and two bite size sopes for $100 left us feeling ripped off and disappointed. I try to be fair but this just seems like poor execution and attention to detail.
Service is the reason I gave it two stars because they were so nice and helpful.

The food at Tacos del Cartel was delicious, and the tacos were excellent. However, customers should pay close attention to their bill.
Our check included a 2% administrative fee and a 20% service charge for parties of more than four people (which is essentially the tip). On top of that, the payment terminal still prompts you to leave an additional tip. If you don’t carefully review your bill, you could easily end up tipping twice.
Great food, but this billing practice lacks transparency. These charges should be clearly disclosed, and the tip prompt should reflect that a service charge has already been added.
Beautiful interior and very friendly service, but unfortunately the food and pricing were a major disappointment.
The portions were surprisingly small for the price. We left feeling that the value simply wasn’t there. Several dishes were overly salty, which made them difficult to fully enjoy.
What shocked us the most was the pricing of the tequila shots. We were charged $18 per shot, which felt extremely excessive, especially considering that for a similar amount you can purchase an entire bottle.
The atmosphere is great and our server was wonderful, but the overall experience did not justify the cost. There are many taco restaurants in the area offering larger portions, better flavor, and much better value for the money. Unfortunately, we would not return.
