  O-Ku exceeded every expectation. The ambiance is beautiful! It’s upscale, inviting, and perfect for a great night out. The sushi was incredibly fresh and some of the highest quality we've had. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. The Oceanside roll, and the Hokkaido scallop strawberry appetizer stood out. 🍓 Without a doubt, this was the best dinner we've had in Tampa. A special shoutout to David W. at the bar for making one of my all-time favorite cocktails. His service, attention to detail, and recommendations made an already amazing experience even better. To top it all off, the manager, Angie, stopped by our table at the end of the evening to check on our experience which was really thoughtful. We can't wait to come back!

  I thought the food, service, and atmosphere here were all great. The cuts of fish used for the sushi / nigiri/ sashimi are high quality, and we really enjoyed some of the more creative sections of the menu (signature temaki and nigiri pieces). The only 2 downfalls were the miso soup (unbearably salty, none of us could finish our whole bowl -- who is taste-testing this?) and the price is on the very high-end (we spent about 150/pp without alcohol, which I don't mind, however I did recently eat at a sushi restaurant of identical quality for half the price, so it's hard not to compare). If you want to finish off with something sweet, the donut holes were 10/10 ‐‐ almost 'churro-esque', crisp outer crust with a super-soft center. I think this place is definitely worth a try, and I would return again on occasion.

  Just had dinner here tonight, and overall we had a great experience. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the food was excellent—although it is a little on the pricey side. Personally, I’d choose this location over the one in Hyde Park any day. My only complaint was the wait for our food. At one point, I counted eight servers waiting at the sushi bar, so it seemed like the kitchen was backed up. That said, it’s a new restaurant, and I’m sure they’ll work through those growing pains. As we were leaving, my fiancée said it was worth the wait because it was the best sushi she’s ever had. Also, if you’ve read the community forums, don’t let the rooftop bar comments discourage you. From what I understand, the rap club-style parties are only on Sunday nights. During the rest of the week, parking and the overall atmosphere shouldn’t be an issue. Definitely worth checking out.

  We’re locals, and O-Ku was one of the most anticipated restaurant openings in the area—and it has exceeded every expectation. Our first visit was on June 30th, when the team accommodated us immediately after OpenTable failed to process our reservation correctly. From that moment on, the hospitality has been nothing short of exceptional. We returned again this past Friday after a disappointing experience at Barcelona, where we ultimately decided to leave. Walking into O-Ku completely turned our evening around. We were warmly greeted by Carly, who we learned works on the corporate team, and our server, Justine, was one of the best hospitality professionals we’ve ever had. Her knowledge of the menu and genuine enthusiasm made the entire experience unforgettable. She recommended the Maguro Sashimi and Gomo Maguro, which paired perfectly with our Double Spicy Tuna Crunch Rolls and the Blazing Saddle Roll. Every recommendation was spot-on. And the espresso martini? Easily one of the best we’ve ever had. If you can’t tell, O-Ku has quickly become our favorite restaurant. The food is incredible, but what truly sets this place apart is the unmatched hospitality. A huge thank you to Justine, and Carly for making every visit feel so special. We can’t wait to keep coming back!

  My wife and I recently celebrated at O-Ku for our 20th anniversary, and what an unforgettable evening it turned out to be. From the moment we arrived, Trinity and Angela provided a level of hospitality and genuine care that exceeded anything I have experienced at a restaurant. Great service is one thing; making guests feel truly special is something entirely different. Trinity and Angela accomplished that effortlessly. When they learned we were celebrating an anniversary, they went above and beyond to make the evening memorable. We were surprised with champagne at the table, a thoughtful anniversary gift, and a complimentary dessert that was absolutely incredible. Every gesture was delivered with warmth, sincerity, and attention to detail. What impressed me most was not simply what they did, but how they did it. Nothing felt scripted or routine. Their kindness and professionalism transformed a wonderful dinner into a truly memorable experience. Of course, the food was outstanding, beautifully prepared, and exactly what you would expect from a restaurant of O-Ku’s reputation. But what will bring us back is the exceptional service we received from Trinity and Angela. They are a credit to O-Ku and a perfect example of how remarkable hospitality can elevate an evening from great to unforgettable. Thank you, Trinity. Thank you, Angela. And thank you, O-Ku, for creating an experience that Karen and I will remember for a very long time.
