# Restaurant Review
This was, without a doubt, the **best restaurant experience I have ever had!** My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our two-year anniversary, and from the moment we arrived, we felt so incredibly special and welcomed. There was a thoughtful gift waiting for us on the table along with the sweetest card signed by the entire wait staff—a personal touch that truly meant so much to us.
Our waitress, **Jacqueline, was absolutely amazing!** She was so kind, sweet, and genuinely funny, and she made our entire experience even more enjoyable. She was attentive without being overbearing and made us feel so comfortable and cared for throughout the evening.
The food was absolutely unbelievable—so fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I have a gluten-free diet, and they were incredibly accommodating and careful about making sure everything was safe for me. I never once felt worried about what I was eating, and I felt great afterward, which is something I truly appreciate.
The manager even stopped by our table personally to introduce himself and wish us a happy anniversary. And as if that wasn't enough, they surprised us with another gift: a complimentary five-piece crispy rice set! The level of thoughtfulness and hospitality was beyond anything we expected.
After living in Tampa for six years, I can confidently say this was the **best food and dining experience I've had in Tampa.** I will absolutely be recommending this restaurant to all of my family and friends. We cannot wait to come back! ❤️

O-Ku in Tampa is hands-down one of the best Japanese dining spots in the Bay area. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between sleek, stylish, and warm—ideal for anything from a romantic date night to drinks with friends. Every dish is a masterpiece, from the insanely fresh Otoro and Uni that melt in your mouth to the beautifully crafted specialty rolls. Don't skip the robata grill items either; the smoky, savory flavors on the wood-fired skewers are unreal.

The food and service were exceptional, and I was really enjoying the outdoor dining experience. Unfortunately, the mosquitoes were absolutely horrible. I was bitten so badly that I had to leave earlier than I planned, and I’m still itching from all the bites. I called back and spoke with the manager, who was very nice and said she would speak with the building manager about the issue. It’s such a beautiful outdoor setting, but something definitely needs to be done about the mosquito problem so guests can comfortably enjoy it. Otherwise, everything was terrific.
I’m giving one star because the manager Angela. I’ve been to so many places and so many nice Restaurants, but I’ve never been treated how Angela did to me and my friend. She was such a Karen and I’ll be reaching out to Corporate because Oku is a good restaurant I’ve been to To all three locations, but she ruined it for the one in Tampa . We came Around 6 PM on a On a Monday and as soon as we walked in the door, she had an attitude. We asked for a table for two and she told us the tables were booked up and so we asked if we could sit at the hightop table and she told us no they’re booked up too And it was a Monday night we sat and ate for a couple hours, We noticed the table were still empty. I’ll insert a picture. We asked the people next to us if she told them the same thing and And the guy said “FULL OF GHOSTS?” Because it was nowhere booked up. Basically, she tried to lie Which is very upsetting because me and my friend spent about 400-500$ here. I still took good care of the bartenders that served us Because it had nothing to do with them or OKU. It’s her and I’ll make sure she will be dealt with I’ll be reaching out to corporate. I’ve never Went out to eat and had to Deal with someone with such A nasty Personality and if you’re gonna work at a restaurant, make sure you’re bitterness and miserable personality don’t affect other people..

I made a reservation at O-Ku for my girlfriend's birthday, and from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the level of hospitality and intentionality was unlike anything I've ever experienced.
Before our reservation, Natalie reached out and asked a few thoughtful questions about my girlfriend, what she enjoys, her hobbies, and what would make her birthday special. I mentioned that she loves horses, the outdoors, the beach, and that she loves her Puerto Rican culture.
When we arrived, they had a handwritten birthday card with a beautifully drawn horse and heartfelt messages from the entire staff. They also surprised her with thoughtful gifts that reflected the things she loves. These weren't generic birthday gestures, they were personal and intentional. As if they had known her for a long time.
Our server, Justine, was exceptional. Her knowledge of the menu was remarkable. She explained every dish with confidence, answered every question with detail, and guided us through the evening flawlessly. She struck the perfect balance between being attentive and allowing us to enjoy our evening together.
Jeremy, the night manager, also made it a point to check on us throughout the night. His genuine care and attention to detail reflected the culture of the entire restaurant.
I've dined at some outstanding restaurants in Los Angeles, where exceptional service is often considered the standard. O-Ku didn't just meet that standard, it surpassed it. This wasn't simply great food or great service. It was an experience built on intentionality, excellence, and genuine hospitality.
Thank you, Natalie, Jeremy, Justine, and the entire O-Ku team for making our night truly special. We look forward to seeing you again!
