My boyfriend & I decided to give this new Indian spot in Tampa a chance and we were pleasantly surprised. It was absolutely yummy!! ❤️😋🙏🏽Even though the portion of the main course could be a bit bigger it was simply DELICIOUS!! Definitely check it out!!

"I had a terrible experience here back when it was Jai Bhavani Fast Food—the owner was extremely rude and lacked basic customer service skills. However, my recent visit to Jalsa Indian Kitchen was a completely different story! The manager, Raj, was working hard, super helpful, and taking great care of every single customer. The food was good, but Raj’s exceptional service was the real highlight. My advice to management: let Raj keep running the front of the house and handling customers—he’s doing a fantastic job!"

We stopped by Jalsa for lunch and had a good experience overall. The food was flavorful and well prepared, and we really appreciated that the meats are halal. The restaurant itself has a very nice, upscale atmosphere and definitely feels a bit more elevated than your typical Indian restaurant. That said, we did feel the prices were a little high for what you get. I suppose some of that premium is for the upscale environment and presentation. Overall, good food, nice atmosphere, and a solid halal option.

Aside from the nice atmosphere I wouldn't reccommend coming here if you are a vegetarian/vegan or devout Hindu as they cook non veg here too When I walked in we were told this place was "upgraded" which implied they were still a Jai Bhavani but that they had changed names, but I did some research and Jai Bhavani no longer lists this Tampa location on their website So it's a new restaurant under different management, despite the giant Jai Bhavani sign they still have yet to remove. Out of respect I will not give a rating for the food or service as I didn't eat here so therefore I cannot judge on those facts, but decided to write a review as a bit of a warning for any Jains or Devout Hindus or just Vegans/Vegetarians who are considering this place.

I see all these 5 stars reviews, so I'm shocked we had such a bad experience. I attached our receipt for the both of us that ate. We went there around 1:30 PM, so maybe it was a bad time. Anyways, the service was absolutely terrible. There was a skinny guy working, no smile, not friendly at all. It seemed like he did not want to be there. I had to keep asking him to get us water and we were the only ones there so it can't be that hard to wait on us. He had us pay the total amount before getting the bill, so I asked for the bill and he said he would give it after. So, we got the bill after paying and I let him know that we still didn't get the mango cheesecake we paid for, so it he had to go the the kitchen and have them put it in. Oddly, he kept walking by trying to rush us, so we could leave and we were still eating. I honestly don't know how they hired him, when he does not have any customer service skills. Even though our service was bad, we still tipped 18%. As a business owner, I would know to hire better staff. The food was okay, paneer chilli was sweet, tasted like they added extra ketchup, the veg Manchurian gravy balls were good, but there was only 4 balls and rest was all gravy. The veg garlic chilli noodles was probably what we liked the most. They tasted the most fresh. The mysore masala dosa had old potato stuffing. It's easily to identify old potato stuffing from fresh potato stuffing. The tandoori momos were not soft and the exterior of momos felt like a hard shell. Momos are typically steamed and these were not. Mango cheesecake was good as well. I'm not an expert, but I can tell between good indian food and bad Indian food, this was definitely bad. I really wanted to converse with the waiter to know their specialty and what I should order. I'm outgoing, so I normally do this when I'm trying a new place, but like I said he was not helpful at all. The only thing we really liked was the look and interior of restaurant. It felt premium and well done. It's shame that a nice place is wasted by having bad staff. Also, on a side note there was homeless people sleeping right beside the restaurant on the outside. I usually don't leave a review, unless I had a really bad time. We probably won't be back and won't be recommending this restaurant.
