What a fantastic little Tampa find! Catrinas has so much personality from the moment you walk in. The colorful Día de los Muertos décor, the music and the atmosphere make it feel like much more than just another Mexican restaurant.
The food was fresh, flavorful and felt genuinely authentic. I especially loved knowing that the chef/owner is originally from Guadalajara and has brought a little piece of her culture and family traditions to Tampa. You can feel that personal touch in the place.
Great food, great energy, and the kind of locally owned restaurant I love discovering and supporting. Definitely coming back — and next time I’m trying one of those homemade coconut mojitos! 🌮🇲🇽❤️
A true West Tampa gem…. The empty plates say it all ❤️🔥🦾💫💫💫💫

Good try at a restaurant. My stomach and food service temp had me concerned with food storage temps. Then other reviews seem to confirm this. I was creeped out at lack of attention or awareness to simple cleanliness things. But the worst thing... The owner's rank narcissist behavior is unchained. She views every question that brings her food or establishment to any measure of accountability as a threat and verbally treats it as such without thinking. She's insulting and brash. No thanks. Look at her reaction to any criticism on reviews. Deny, deflect and blame. Gaslight answers. Unreal. Forgot... The price scam. Just double the menu price. She has forgotten to update the menu for months and will tell you this at the end of your meal. If, and yell at you for inquiring.
- and there you go. Unapologetic. Indignant.

Catalina is definitely a little spot in Tampa worth checking out! 🌮
The place is cozy and has a beautiful painting on the wall that is simply breathtaking. The owner was by herself the day we visited, but she was incredibly diligent, and we never felt like we were waiting too long for either our drinks or our food.
I had the steak tacos, and I have to say, the steak was fantastic, no bad pieces at all. But my absolute favorite was the carnitas! They were so flavorful and perfectly crispy on the outside while still moist and tender inside. Honestly, some of the best carnitas I can remember having.
It was a little warm inside when we visited, but not uncomfortable. Overall, a cozy little spot with delicious food and a great personal touch. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in Tampa! 🌮❤️

My family and I ordered 3 sets of 3 quesabirria tacos. There was a small mix up however it is what Catrina’s did next that really surprised me. Not only did they completely give us 3 more separate orders at no cost but they apologized many times and also gave us a $20 credit for next order and a discount on margaritas. This is how a business should run!!!! Customer service and food is phenomenal. I couldn’t ask for anything better. I was already impressed by their food but the customer service was above and beyond. See you guys again soon. Thank you for being great!

Me and my boyfriend came here for dinner. Beware!! prices on the menu are NOT the real prices they will charge you. I ordered quesabirria, which was supposed to be $13 but I got charged 16. My boyfriend ordered one quessabirria taco and a chimichanga which should have been 17 total but ended up being 22 total. We also got asked if we’d like anything to drink and said “no just water”, this ended up being $2 each bottled water, insane!! We politely told our waitress that the prices on the check were not the same as the menu ($20 more than it should’ve been) and the owner came to our table upset at us saying that she just hasn’t updated the menu yet and these are “her prices”. the waitress was nice enough to give us 2 gift cards but still, total ripoff.
