We stayed at the Island Grand, so we chose here as our dinner option, no reservations were available until 9pm (2hrs later). We arrived about 7:30pm notified the hostess that we did have a reservation, but if they could put us on the wait list and notify us when a table would be available. This was met with utter rudeness, but we were told that we would get a text when a table would be ready. Between 8:15pm and us seating at 8:50pm there was no one else waiting in the lobby yet 10 tables empty, 7 of which already had new table settings placed. When we asked the hostess at the time if there's a reason we are still waiting we were informed that she didn't even have anyone on the wait list....so much for a text when a table is ready. We finally had a table and waited to order, the waitress assigned to our table was beat, clearly done but she tried and put a lot of effort in.
Food was good, but after waiting forever, we were just done anyways.
We ordered the snow crab, the surf and turf (steak and lobster tail), and for the kiddos the steak skewer and fries and chicken tenders and fries, and a side of shrimp.
For a resort restaurant the food wasn't bad but next time I think we would try the highly rated fish grill outside the resort across the street.

My coworker and I — two Black men and one white friend — went to Rum Fish Grill for a meal and happy hour after moving to Clearwater. Food issues aside, the real problem was how we were treated at the bar. After showing ID for drinks, a manager took our IDs to the back for 20-30 minutes with no explanation and was rude when she finally returned. Our white friend got his ID back immediately — I was asked to confirm my zip code first, as if being tested. Our IDs were all valid and out-of-state, and we’re all of legal age. Felt singled out and profiled. Won’t be returning.
We booked a 7.15pm table by the aquarium six months ago (in February for 1st August visit) as we were visiting St. Pete from the UK. We were shocked to find that the hostess put us on a table at the back and, when I politely explained our booking request, was told that she knew we'd booked long ago and what our request was, but they had parties booked and we could have a table at 9pm if we wanted to be by the fish! We felt very disappointed and extremely undervalued as customers.
Our waitress endeavoured to correct our seating issue and offered to clear a recently vacated table that she felt was a really good table. The hostess once again stepped in and gave us a table by the fish Next to the Kitchen - quite a good view but not what our waitress had suggested - the hostess over-ruled her we think.
Dinner was good, not exceptional for the price but good.
However, the poor welcome somewhat soured our experience and is what we will remember ultimately. I'd advise thinking about customers, especially those who have come so far and long anticipated their evening with you. We booked in good faith and should not have been treated as not important. Shame.

DO NOT EAT HERE. Absolute Disaster From Top to Bottom.
This was, without a doubt, the single worst dining experience of my life. Every single aspect of this establishment—from the parking lot to the kitchen—is a complete failure.
Here is how our visit went:
The Parking: You are forced to pay an absurd fee just for the privilege of parking and walking through the door.
The "Service": Non-existent. Walking in, there was no greeting, no host, and no staff in sight. After standing around waiting, we had to hunt down an employee ourselves just to ask for a table. We were told to sit anywhere in the sports bar, but 75% of the tables were caked in old, leftover food. No one was cleaning. We had to seat ourselves, drag chairs over from other dirty tables, and rely on another customer—not the staff—to help us track down a high chair.
The Attention: Every basic necessity required an investigation. If we wanted water, a menu, to place an order, or to pay our bill, we had to go search for an employee and literally plead for help.
The Food: The grand finale of this nightmare. It took 50 minutes to arrive and was served lukewarm. We ordered the double smash burger, chicken tenders, wings, and nachos—all of it was inedible, low-quality trash. I wouldn't feed this to my dogs, and I actively had to stop my children from eating it.
The worst part? We all ended up sick to our stomachs for the rest of the day. Instead of enjoying quality time with my family, we spent the afternoon recovering from food poisoning.
