  Our party of 4 had dinner reservations at the Purple Olive. We had some challenges finding a spot to park but we arrived early enough to get it sorted out. The dining room can be a little tight and noisy. It's not a place I would take children. But it had an intimate atmosphere like a big family gathering. So we didn't mind the close quarters. We were prompted seated. The roasted olives and the cheese sampler were selected as starters. These were both great choices. Olives were tasty and the cheeses were delicious. Just the right amount of each for our party. DW had a side salad before his entree. The salad left a little to be desired. Althought it presented well, it was a little dry. The dressing provided is not one that DW enjoys. One of us had the pasta primavera with grilled shrimp. This was done perfectly and had a wonderful aroma and presentation. Another selected the stuffed chicken; another had the pork chop; another had the salmon. The meats were enjoyable but the kitchen substituted rice for mashed potatoes. That was unfortunate because the menu listed mashed potatoes. The rice was not good and wasn't eaten. Still, the overall plates were full, savory, and cooked well. We would like to return again to try other items on the interesting menu.

  Everything was perfect! Our server and food-runner genuinely care about the customer, work hard, and it shows. Roasted olives, gorgonzola cranberry salad, thai coconut mussels, lamb porterhouse, lemon caper chicken, the chocolate gateau, and the cappuccino... every course was excellent. Don't pass up dessert. We will be back asap.

  My family and I had a reservation on July 3 at 5:45p and arrived early. We sat at the bar until the rest of our party arrived where we enjoyed our delicious old fashions. While sipping on our drinks, we were provided great dinner suggestions by Dana. Our server, Alanna, was superb! She knew the specials and menu well with the knowledge of ingredients, which was especially important due to food allergies at our table. All of our food from the appetizers, main course, and dessert was cooked per request, plated well, and served timely with care. The food quality was exceptional. Thank you for a great experience! We look forward to returning. Some of our food included: appetizers - escargot, watermelon salad with fresh mozzarella, and seafood chowder; main meals- flank steak, ribeye, halibut; dessert: chocolate gateau, key lime pie, and creme brulee.

  The food and service is top notch. It is a smaller place so place a reservation if going on the weekend. Also, parking is very tight. There is a smaller room for walk ins if seating is avaliable. Because of the size, it gets very loud so you can sometimes have trouble hearing the person in front of you. Overall, amazing place, would go again.

  Amazing food and service. Very welcoming and accommodating. Every person we encountered was pleasant. We didn’t have a reservation so we called ahead to see if we could sit outside and order off the happy hour menu. They said yes and we ordered from both menus. Yummy and great value. We like the outside porch and look forward to them making it covered and adding more evening lighting. The manager had the concern about rain that might be forthcoming and made arrangements for us to move inside. Everything was great from start to finish. This time we had a Party of 6. Last time we ate at 8:00 pm and had a party of 8. We sat outside and everyone enjoyed the evening and food. Go - you won’t be disappointed!!!
