  Rarely do I find a business that can rise to the five star level, and I reserve that for those that go way beyond what is expected. This is one of those examples. I stopped in at Southern Steer Butcher on Bee Ridge Road, as there are zero butcher locations in the Venice, Florida area. The second I went through the door I was greeted by the owner (assumed), and was given an excellent tour of what they offered and how certain things were prepared. The store was incredibly clean, and the variety was outstanding. The entire process was actually exciting and fun- I can't say enough how well done the customer service experience was here. Then the final test- their product. This was no joke- the best beef I have had since coming to Florida. Having traveled around the world, I have had the pleasure of consuming some top tier steaks. This store made the top three; and to be honest, that was kind of a shock because their prices are incredibly reasonable, and it was competing with beef I have had, and literally 5x the price. If you are looking for a meat supplier outside of the vastly inferior supermarket; if you are looking for something that will take a meal to a height way beyond what you expect in most five star restaurants, this is it. I will be a customer for life.

  Amazing customer service and quality of meat!! I’ve actually never been to a butcher before and what I can tell you is they’re extremely nice here, but not only that this is the first time I’ve ever cooked pre-marinated food! the chicken is phenomenal. The chicken is phenomenal! I am meal prepping and it makes it so easy to just throw this in the air fryer and put rice in the rice cooker and food is done for the day. I will be coming back here often to pick up meat. Way fresher than a grocery store! Way better quality. Thank you for the great experience. I will be back on Tuesday for sure for those deals. There’s no excuse to eat fast food when it’s this easy to make a meal thank you southern steer!

  The meat is exceptional with a great selection of meats and the shop is very clean

  Incredible friendly service and a huge selection of meats and jerky. The marinated meat selection is really a standout. I went there to pick up some wagyu steaks and purchased 2 -1 1/2"inch thick ribeyes. Off the charts delicious. They have so many other sauces olives wines accoutrements as well.
