We have eaten here 3 times. The past two times were for lunch, and they were amazing! This time, coming for dinner was not so good. I am being kind with this review because of the past experiences.
The hostess was not friendly at all. There were no pleasantries at all. The greeting was "How Many?" Not the best start, but we were hungry. After sitting at the table for almost 15 min, the server appeared. He took our drink order and appetizer order: chips and salsa. The chips and salsa arrived, but no drinks. We ordered our main entrees and enjoyed our chips. Then dinner arrived, still no drinks. About five bites into our meal, the drinks arrived.
We will be back to try again because of the past experiences.

We were wandering around UTC on Tuesday, 8/18/26, looking for a fun spot for dinner. We’d always walked past Rocco’s Tacos and noticed how lively it was—finally, we made time to stop in! Two friendly hostesses greeted us outside and kindly checked for a table. One of them quickly found us a cozy booth with great air conditioning. We settled in and were welcomed by Scott, one of the best servers we’ve ever met. Since it was our first visit, he walked us through the whole menu, highlighting favorites and even the drink options. He was so thorough! As millennials who work with people every day, we know how tough that can be, so we really appreciated his energy and care. We tried the fresh guacamole Scott made—absolutely delicious! Then we ordered drinks: I think one was a Piñata mocktail and the other a frozen piña colada. For food, we shared the Molcajete, which was so good! Thanks again, Rocco’s Tacos, and a huge thanks to Scott. We’ll definitely be back!

This place sets the bar for Taco Tuesdays. Great service provided by all the staff. Our server Lauren and all the service staff made the work night memorable. The manager came out and topped drinks to help keep things going. Food was fresh and tasty and well put together. Hot sauces were on point. Again, making Taco Tuesday nights bigger and I'm waiting for LeBron to buy them now. Place looked great, have your time there inside or out.

Waited long time at table while waiters walked around doing nothing. One young male waiter flitted around the half empty restaurant like a hummingbird looking for a mate. Not serving food, not taking orders or payment & not cleaning dishes from tables. While sitting there i telephond the restaurant and asked if they would provide a waiter. The head pounding music was so loud she couldn't hear me & asked if I wanted take out. I walked out of the the place. Tuesday at 5:30pm and no service in that half empty restaurant. The place has a college bar vibe. Don't waste your time if you want restaurant food.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Rocco’s Tacos, and Josh was a huge reason why. He truly went above and beyond from the moment we sat down. He was attentive, personable, professional, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our entire meal.
What impressed me most was the extra care he showed my mother. She had a few specific needs and requests, and Josh went out of his way to accommodate every one of them with patience, kindness, and a genuinely positive attitude. He never made us feel like anything was an inconvenience.
Josh is truly everything you could ask for in a server—friendly, knowledgeable, attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely focused on making sure his guests have an exceptional experience. It’s rare to find someone who provides this level of service while also making you feel so welcomed and cared for.
If Rocco’s Tacos has a “Server of the Year,” Josh gets our vote! He is an incredible asset to the restaurant, and we will absolutely ask for him the next time we visit. Thank you, Josh, for making our experience so memorable!
