I had a very unpleasant experience at Dunkin’ Donuts on Monday, May 11, 2026, around 8:10 AM. I placed and paid for an online order through the app and arrived at the location around 8:20 AM. I waited patiently along with the other customers, but after several minutes I noticed my coffee was never placed on the pickup counter.
I approached a young lady working with three other male employees and asked if my order would be coming up next. She asked for my name, and after I gave it to her, she simply said, “Oh, we don’t have that coffee,” and walked away.
Confused, I then asked another employee what happens next since I was never notified that the item was unavailable. His response was extremely rude. Using hand gestures and shrugging his shoulders, he loudly repeated, “We don’t have any way to notify you.” I found that hard to believe considering the Dunkin’ app has my email address and phone number attached to my account and order.
What made the situation worse was that my order had already been placed over 15 minutes earlier and fully paid for, yet no one offered a solution or apology. I eventually had to ask for a refund myself.
It is very concerning that when this location runs out of products, customers who already paid apparently receive no notification or assistance. The customer service I experienced from the employees at this location was very disappointing — especially from the male employee I interacted with, who was extremely rude and unprofessional.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving communication and customer service at this location.
Don’t go if you don’t want to be treated like trash!
First of all, in order to write this review I had to delete the one I posted a few months ago, where I was already upset about the bad service. It’s a shame I can’t leave both reviews, but if I chose to post this one instead of the previous one which was already awful that should tell you just how bad this experience was.
I went today around noon. There was a line and I had to wait, okay, no problem. I get to the register and greet the cashier normally, no issue. I start placing my order and ask for a nutty matcha with no extra sugar, and that’s when the first unpleasant moment happens: she gives me a bad look and rudely tells me it doesn’t have extra sugar. Her attitude caught me off guard, but I thought, okay, let’s move on.
She asks me what size I want, and I literally said “the biggest one,” to which she (again, rudely) repeats the question and lists the names of the three sizes. At that point I was already getting nervous because she was treating me poorly for no reason, and I started feeling tense. I answered “large,” but I didn’t understand why she was acting like that when “the biggest one” is perfectly clear. Still, I decided to continue.
She kept being pushy, not letting me finish my sentences, interrupting me, and being rude. I asked for stuffed bagels and she asked which ones. I honestly didn’t know there was more than one option, so I paused for a second — and she kept pushing and rudely asking again which one I wanted. I said “what do you mean?” because I genuinely didn’t understand. Since everything was already tense, I said the cream cheese one, and she responded as if I had said something offensive, saying both have cream cheese and asking which one I wanted.
At that point, feeling extremely uncomfortable and tense, I said firmly, “I don’t understand you, I’m not understanding.” She replied with attitude, “calm down,” and I said, “you’re being rude.” She responded, “I’m not being rude at all,” and I said, “yes, you are.” She then simply turned around and walked away.
I stood there for a few seconds trying to process what had just happened, and I asked, “Can someone else help me?” She said no one was going to help me, didn’t allow anyone else to assist me, and told me to leave.
I have never in my life felt so confused and outraged. I was denied service and kicked out, when they were the ones treating me badly. I’ve never experienced anything like this. Even though my first review was also about bad treatment, it wasn’t nearly as nasty and disgusting as this.
I don’t know if this is racism or simply a lack of basic customer service skills, but judging by other reviews, this seems to be a recurring issue.
I know how difficult it is to work with the public — I DO THIS FOR A LIVING! I know what it’s like to misunderstand a customer or feel your patience slipping, and to deal with everything that comes with the job — and I have NEVER refused to serve someone or asked them to leave unless they were being verbally or physically aggressive or offensive… which I absolutely was not. If anything, she was the one behaving that way toward me.
I’m someone who tries not to be difficult when I go to a place, precisely because I work in the same field. I truly don’t understand what I did wrong other than not understanding her or not using the exact wording she expected.
Employees like this only create terrible experiences that ruin a customer’s day, and honestly, they are harmful to any business. In the case of this Dunkin’ Donuts, it’s not just her — several employees there have that same aggressive, nasty attitude. This isn’t the first time it’s happened to me, and it’s not the first time I’ve witnessed it.
Personally, I won’t be returning to this or any Dunkin’ Donuts again. I’ve never felt so much indignation over customer service in my life.
I hope she finds a way to heal whatever resentment she has toward others, or that she finds a job that doesn’t require interacting with people, because she clearly doesn’t know how to do it.
