  Really great biscuits, I am pretty picky about biscuits and gravy, but this place was outstanding, we had the breakfast buffet and it was very good, it had three different kinds of eggs, and like four different breakfast meats ,pancakes, French toast ,a fruit bar ,and the train depot atmosphere was so nostalgic

  I lived in Panama City for over a year before I found out that Granny's was a buffet! I was ordering food from doordash and then one day while I was at work, someone told me that they were going to get some food from Granny's, and I was like all right cool yeah I'll go and eat there I've never been there in person. That's when I found out it was a buffet! The food is generally always pretty good and you can eat as much as you like. Everything from fried chicken, meatloaf, turkey, wings, barbecue, rice and gravy, collard greens, black eyed peas, Lima beans, mashed potatoes, bread pudding, green beans, corn, nearly every dessert and you name it, they'll have it at Granny's. I've only had good experiences when eating here and the staff is always very polite, kind, and welcoming. Thank you for the great dining experiences and I hope everyone is having a great day.

  I went in to get a takeout dinner. And I paid twenty seven dollars for my takeout plate, which is understandable when the food is up to par. Most everything on the buffet looked like it had been there all day. The mashed potatoes were like hard and dry on top. The country fried steak was so hard. You couldn't eat it. The rolls were not soft, they were crunchy. Depending and stuff looked like they were dried out and then someone added water to them I was a buffet attendant, so I know how that goes, you're supposed to keep water in them, so they don't dry out, not wait till they dry out and then add water.And you're supposed to replace them every so often with fresh ones. I've never heard anything but good things about Granny.Cantrell's , but my first experience was horrible.

  I come to Panama City 2-3 times per year to visit family, and this most recent trip in September 2026 saw my first visit to Granny Cantrell's. We will be coming back at least once on every future visit. We went twice on our 6 day trip in September. Once for breakfast and once for the lunch buffet once we vibed with that breakfast so hard. Seriously- everything we ordered was on point. But man. That lunch buffet? Forgive me arteries, for I have fried chicken'd. That fried chicken gave me LIFE. The mac. The taters. The rice gravy. I dream about Granny Cantrell's from North Carolina. Until next time. 🫡 🖖

  Well we went there after I read through the reviews because we love fried chicken. And their fried chicken was the best I have had in a very long time. Everything was good that I ate that day except their green beans they were just awful and filled with stings and very chewy and their Mac and cheese was a big let down. It was dry with no taste to it. They had awesome mashed potatoes and gravy. And a wonderful selections of desserts!!!
