our waitress, lindsey, was super helpful! she helped me confirm i needed some fried green tomatoes 🤣 she was very kind and attentive to us and seemed to really actually enjoy what she was doing and was very personable, which we love to see since we don’t seem to get that as much going out to eat these days!
food was very good! my only criticism would be i need more than just one fried green tomato on that lil plate 🤣 the gumbo had a great, dark roux with some heat-packin sausage in it. the only thing better would have been some rice alongside with the gumbo.
but other than that we have zero complaints! and even with these criticisms in mind, the food was really good. the atmosphere was very nice as well and i have become convinced i need a “Rougarouin’” sign for my kitchen lol

Food was eh. Raw oysters and soup were good. We had the seafood boiled and OMG was it sooooo salty. They asked if it was “spicy due to the Cajun spice” would’ve much rather that. The amount of food and getting half off for the overly saturated salted seafood boil it was not worth a $125 bill. They took half off the overly salted item but honestly, if we can’t even eat the crab legs on there that should tell you something. I’m one to hate to write reviews unless it’s needed and this one was a must. It’s not worth the wait. We waited 30mins for this where we could’ve and should’ve gone elsewhere.

To start I tend to be a very understanding person, I don’t go out of my way to leave bad reviews. My dinner experience yesterday night does not allow me to leave a good review in good consciente.
Ill start with atmosphere:
It felt really cramped, which usually isn’t an issue if the food is decent. The music was obnoxiously loud, and felt more like noise pollution than anything. Having a band playing indoors at those noise levels just made it hard to have a conversation. Once they finished their set it was great. I am not a hater of live music, I usually love it even if its crowd pleasing country slop, but there is a time and place (usually outdoors).
Service was subpar, granted it was a bit full, our waiter was often no where to be seen. When it came to the quality of our food (which ill get to later), all we got was “nobody else has complained about it…” not a great response, we got zero refills, and no proper solution to our food situation.
Food:
I would give it 0/5 if I could, but the only saving grace was that the charboiled oysters were decent. The raw oysters on the other hand were absolutely disgusting. My wife had two where she physically recoiled at the flavor. I had one and had the same reaction, I wanted to puke them out.
At this point we let the waiter know, and we were offered the choice to replace her oysters for something else. Unfortunately we specifically came to this restaurant for the oysters, and my wife can’t eat most things on the menu due to dietary restrictions. When asking to just get other raw oysters we were told that we would have to pay for them, and that they would taste the same since they are the same batch.
At this point we reevaluated our life choices and decision of why we thought of waiting 45 minutes to eat at this subpar overrated restaurant. Clearly a mistake because then it took us another 10-15 minutes to flag down our waiter to just get out of there. Felt like we were stuck in our own hell.
To finish off, we have had our own fair share of experiences eating raw oysters. This isn’t a, “oh we wanted to try them for the first time and they were bad”. No. As a matter of fact we had some raw oysters the previous day at Dustys, and they were phenomenal. Beyond that we have had the opportunity to shuck our own oysters and eat them off the coast in San Diego as well, and more. So I have no idea where they sourced these raw oysters.
For people saying they are off-season, or whatever, then I am not entirely sure how other places (e.g. Dustys) have good tasting raw oysters…

It was pretty busy—the wait time for a Friday evening in late July was a little long, but joining the wait list was helpful. The food was pretty good, but I've had better along the Florida/Alabama coastline. The service was good and staff was friendly. I think overhead industrial fans (on low/medium) would've been great to keep the flies from invading our table during the meal. The remoulade sauce, beignets, and shrimp pontchartrain were the best items we had. Blakened grouper, gulf peel & eat shrimp, and fried shrimp with oysters were okay. Even asking for extra spicy on the boil wasn't that spicy. Overall, it was decent, but not quite the 4.6-star rating we've experienced elsewhere.

Never come here if you have a large party!! We arrived at 5:10pm on a Tuesday evening. There are 18 of us. We were told 30-45 min. Great! 30 minutes later, we saw the people at the table they were going to give us had just finished ordering and told them we would be happy to be split. Well, 2 hours later we were finally seated. I asked why we weren't split as we requested and got a very snippy manager who told us we shouldn't come with such a large party! We lost our movie tickets we purchased for that evening. Very sad and disappointed with the customer service they offer.
To add insult to injury, we got our food BEFORE the appetizers. We started getting up and refilling our own drinks at the drink station due to such poor service. Our waiter was overwhelmed with the amount of customers she was serving. I was done eating and some of our table still hadn’t gotten their food. We’ve been coming here for years and won’t be back
