What can I say, except, they were great in everything. I've eaten here 3 times and the value for the array of different foods was great. I've never ordered their crab legs so this is not about them, but al the other food was always fresh and perfectly seasoned. Everything was clean and the service was present without being over done.

The manager... I'm guessing is constantly eyeballing people and pointing made me feel as if she thought everyone in there was there to eat and not pay instead of staring people down make them pay for the buffet first on top of this when we walked in she spoke to us as if we were idiots her entire tone was off to be a restaurant manager

First time visiting Panama City Beach and what a disappointing experience at Capt. Jack’s Family Buffet. My husband and I arrived after a 4-hour flight with our certified service animal, fully identified, calm, tiny, and inside his stroller out of respect for everyone around us. The receptionist guy immediately stopped us at the door with a rude attitude and refused to even listen or look at the service animal documentation. What made it worse was not the policy itself, but the lack of empathy and customer service. No kindness, no respectful explanation, not even the option to order food to go. We are honestly not buffet people because of bad experiences in the past, but we decided to give this place a chance… big mistake. Thankfully, we crossed the street and went to Hooters, where we were welcomed with kindness and treated exactly how tourists expect to be treated in a coastal city. Great service, delicious food, and an incredible ocean view that completely changed our afternoon. Exactly the kind of hospitality you expect while traveling in Florida. Customer service makes all the difference.

I visited Capt. Jack’s Family Buffet for the first time during my trip to Panama City Beach, and the experience was extremely disappointing from the moment we walked in. My husband and I arrived after a 4-hour flight, tired and simply looking for a nearby place to eat since this restaurant is right next to our hotel. We were traveling with our certified service animal, a small pug, fully identified and sitting quietly inside his stroller carrier out of respect for other guests. The moment we crossed the entrance, the man at the reception immediately made an unfriendly face and bluntly said: “No dogs allowed.” I politely approached him and tried to explain that this was a legally recognized service animal. I even attempted to show the service identification, but he did not care at all. He was cold, dismissive, and rude from the start. What shocked me the most was not even the policy itself, it was the complete lack of professionalism and customer service. There was no empathy, no attempt to listen, no respectful explanation, and not even an offer to let us order food to go after we had just arrived from traveling. We were treated as if we were causing a problem simply for entering the restaurant. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), service animals are generally allowed in restaurants and public establishments, even when pets are prohibited. Staff are permitted to ask only limited questions regarding whether the animal is a service animal required because of a disability. They are not supposed to deny access simply because an animal is present. If this is how they treat customers at the front door, I honestly cannot imagine the level of care and attitude put into the rest of their service. Very disappointing first impression of this place. I would not return, and I would not recommend it to travelers or families expecting respectful customer service

We've been here several times and never had a less than wonderful experience. The buffet is well stocked with a wide variety of items, everything we've tried has been very good. The crab legs are great! Last time we went they had added a variety of fresh fruit to the dessert bar. That was nice! The hosts and hostesses are friendly and efficient. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and do a fantastic job of keeping drinks filled and tables cleared of dishes and shells, no matter how busy it is. Vikki is a real gem!
