I ordered a flatbread sandwich with rotisserie, bacon, provolone, vegetables, garlic aoili, southwest sauce, and requested only salt, pepper, and oregano afterwards. However, oil was added. I politely apologized and explained that I do not like oil on my sandwich. Mindy removed only the vegetables and reapplied them instead of remaking the sandwich. I respectfully asked if it could be remade entirely since the oil had already soaked into the bread, but she refused and became visibly upset.
Due to the situation and the way it was handled, I chose to leave without completing my order. I did raise my voice as I was walking out of the door, but this was after my request had been denied and I felt frustrated.
Shortly after, my husband returned to the store to calmly de-escalate the situation and asked when a manager would be available. He was informed a manager would be in on Monday or possibly later that day. During this interaction, Mindy approached him and provided a conflicting version of events, stating I had initially asked for oil and then changed my mind, which is not accurate. He respectfully acknowledged her perspective but explained he wished to speak with a manager.
Mindy then stated there was no issue to resolve and escalated the situation further by threatening to call the police on me for trespassing and alleged “violent actions,” despite the fact that I had already left the store and had not returned except briefly to take photos of the store information for documentation. I was not present during their conversation. My husband clarified that I was no longer there and that raising one’s voice does not constitute violence. Despite this, Mindy continued to be argumentative and told him to leave the store, which he was already doing.
Additionally, I would like to request that the manager or owner review the security footage from that time, as there was a camera positioned directly behind the employee that should clearly show the interaction.
As a paying customer, I believe it is reasonable to expect that an order be prepared correctly or remade when a mistake occurs, and that concerns can be addressed professionally without escalation.
I will update this review as soon as this issue regarding Mindy is resolved.
I hope this feedback helps improve both customer service and conflict resolution moving forward.
