Had to ask multiple times for refills, one of our apps never showed up had to ask twice for that, they had no idea what happened to it. Then one of guest only ordered a soup and salad and 15 minutes after the rest of the party got our food, it still hadn’t come out. The rest of the table had steaks and fish and all that came out before a soup and salad! Had to ask them about that as well, had two servers but it might have been half a server. Our my son picked this place for his graduation dinner and it was a let down. It was our first time here and was not a great first impression.

Had a really enjoyable dinner at Saltgrass Steak House while visiting Orlando. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was friendly from the moment we walked in. The fresh warm bread they bring out at the start was honestly addictive. Steaks were cooked well, flavorful, and portions were generous. Sides were also solid and came out hot and fresh. It’s a great spot if you’re craving a dependable steakhouse meal without the crazy upscale prices. Definitely a good option on International Drive if you want a relaxed dinner with family or friends. Would happily come back next time in Orlando.”
Normally I am against chain restaurants. But I wanted a simple steak dinner. My husband and I took a chance and are so glad we did. To start off, I will say the bread had an off taste. But… the Caesar salad, porterhouse steak, mashed potatoes and kids meals were perfect! Exactly what we were looking for. The steak was not greasy or overcooked at all. Everything is made fresh unlike other chain restaurants. Our waitress was super kind.
They have lots of seating and parking is easy. If you’re visiting and want a steak dinner and afraid of past chain experiences, fear not, this one is pretty good. I highly recommend.
This restaurant has become number one on my "MUST RETURN" list. This is my second visit, first review. Both experiences were perfection. This visit started with an incredible server named McKenzy. She was so knowledgeable about the tiniest detail of every menu item, it wouldn't surprise me if she did double duty as chef. McKenzy was the ultimate professional service person yet she also had a very witty sense of humor that she pulled out at just the right times. Despite committing to trying a different appetizer, we went with the brisket queso. We broke up the brisket and stirred it in. I had the pork rib combo. With the ribs, I selected was pork sausage. What I liked the most was that it wasn't overly salty. The meat inside, ground very fine and so soft. The second option I chose was the grilled shrimp. If you get nothing else from all these words, take this away. I have never had, and I'm certain I never again will have shrimp as good as Salt Grass' Shrimp. Outside deliciously grilled and seasoned with their signature seven spice mix. Inside was the juiciest most tender shrimp, I didn't know shrimp could be like this. The shrimp brought tears to my eyes. I'll never view shrimp the same way again. I'm talking stomp on the ground, hands in the air, shouting hallelujah type of an experience. Without the seasoning they'd be great shrimp. The seasoning without the shrimp would be a great experience. The two together...a near religious experience. Yes they're that good. The pork ribs were good. They were a different experience. I'm not sure how they pulled this off. They were tender and juicy, but absolutely no fat at all. I'm someone who likes ribs with a good amount of fat, messy and running down my face knowing I'd be ashamed of myself at some point as a result. This was not like that, yet I very much enjoyed it. Unbelievably tender and yes, it fell off the bone. Fir the first time I had lean ribs THAT tender. There wasn't a crazy amount of sauce in them which let me enjoy the actual flavor of the meat. It's another thing I really want to have again and it may permanently change how I view ribs. For the side item I selected the sweet potato fries. I've had sweet potato fries before and I really like them. These were a whole other approach to sweet potato fries. Everyone knows there is no better French fry than the fries McDonald's serve. These are an exact match to those fries, but with sweetness. Unlike any sweet potato fries I've ever had before, it blew my mind how crazy good these things were. My friend who does not like sweet potato fries even enjoyed them. Speaking of my friend, she had the Chicken fried chicken along with the flash fired green beans. I had too much going on in my mouth to try her food, but she forced the cream gravy on me (which she had asked for on the side). This was unlike any gravy I've ever had before. It had a slightly thinner consistency and no lumps whatsoever. It was seasoned differently as well. Another completely unique surprise I never though I'd have walking in the door. She enjoyed everything and was very outspoken about all the things I shoved in her face. The food, all traditional items, cooked in surprisingly delightful and unique ways.
I've eaten there for dinner, the place was packed. Lunch begins at noon. They do have a lunch menu in addition to their regulars. I think the only difference is in portion sizes. They will proudly tell you all items are made from scratch in their kitchen, something I would not have had to be told, it was very obvious you can't get better. They seem to be very very proud of their signature seasoning, rightfully so. It's on several items. Personally id put it on everything. Mary Poppins likely uses it now to make the medicine taste better. They have steaks, my sister raved about the filet. The atmosphere is in line with longhorn, but comfortable. This place checks all the boxes!!! Hot food hot, attentive service, cloth napkins, complimentary bread, warm atmosphere, free parking, varied menu, unique experience all around, etc AND spotlessly clean.
Had dinner last night here, party of 6. While bringing us drinks, our waiter knocked over a drink on my daughter. He did say sorry and helped clean it up, but nothing was offered for the inconvenience. My daughter had to sit through the meal with her sleeve and part of her shirt wet. Food came out, was mostly good. Me, my husband, oldest son and oldest daughter ordered the filet steak. My husband’s and daughters came out great. My son and mine did not appear to be a filet in neither cut nor taste and it was the thinnest piece of steak I’ve ever had. I’ve eaten many of filets and have never had a thin filet before unless it was butterflied. I had my husband taste it, and I tasted his, and it was definitely a different cut. We flagged down somebody who I believed was the manager to get a replacement for my steak. My son had already eaten most of his so we didn’t ask for anything for him. The manager was nice and did replace my steak but I feel this is an ongoing thing they do. I paid over $30 for the filet, I expect to receive a filet. After we ate, they brought the check. A manager brought it to us, and said something and walked away. She was very nice about it and I thought she had said she had comped something on our check because of the drink spilling on my daughter. No, they didn’t comp anything or offer us a discount, and in fact they added an automatic gratuity on there. Which I thought was very weird, because I remember reading on the menu that automatic gratuity was only for parties of 8 or more. The waiter came to collect our payment and I explained how they added on gratuity but we weren’t a party of 8. He went and told the manager who did immediately take it off and bring us a new check. She then said she took it off but just so we know it’s automatic gratuity for parties of 6. I explained that’s is not what’s written on the menu and she said she thought it said 6 and that’s what they always do. I paid the bill, with the recommended tip because the waiter was decent and the food was mostly good. But as we left my husband asked the front to see a menu and clear as day it said parties of 8 or more get the automatic gratuity. The front asked was there an issue and he explained the issue and they acknowledged that while yes it says party of 8 or more, they regularly add it on the parties of 6. This is very deceiving and the fact they are knowingly doing this is ridiculous.
