YUM YUM YUM!!! It’s been about 9y since our vacation to Honolulu, and living in Lake County doesn’t allow for many exciting Hawaiian dining opportunities. We were overjoyed to find a Hawaiian restaurant in Orlando that had many gluten free options to accommodate for my celiac disease. We went for my husband’s birthday lunch, and we were throughly impressed. The flavors were great, and the atmosphere was so fun. Both the cocktails and mocktails were delicious and balanced. We don’t come into Orlando often for dining, but when we do, we will return here.

Mao Kai is a Hawaiian restaurant just off mills. We went for brunch, so keep in mind that brunch is exclusive for Sundays. We arrived around 10:30-10:45. Seating was plentiful, which was somewhat surprising considering how often sunday brunch looks at other establishments. Take advantage of this though. The food here is excellent, so perhaps this timing avoids the initial brunch rush. We had the Hawaiian breakfast with macadamia pancakes. Unfortunately I didnt take a picture of the breakfast. It featured rice, eggs, spam, sausage, and a pleasant macaroni side. Gotta say, the breakfast was good, but the pancakes blew my party away. They were extremely fluffy, covered in a vanilla cream with crumbled macadamia spead over them. The prices were also incredibly affordable compared to other establishments imo. The meals are around 15$, but they are very sharable and healthy portions. Servicr was quick, warm and friendly. The pancake dish sold me on Moa Kai overall. Ill be sure to come back for other non brunch items.

A solid Hawaiian dining experience, but overall I’d currently give it 3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The food itself was good! Everything was flavorful and tasty, and we enjoyed the meal. However, the timing of the food was a bit strange. Our main dishes arrived before the appetizer, and the appetizer didn’t come out until about 10 minutes after the main course. That’s definitely not how we expected the meal to be served. The service was okay overall, but nothing particularly stood out. The atmosphere was also just average. The restaurant was quite loud and, unfortunately, it was fairly warm inside, which made it less comfortable than we would have liked. Overall, good food, but the service and atmosphere could be improved. I’m sure with that improvement, this place could be a 5-star option for dining out 🫶🏼

Absolutely loved this place! Everything we tried was delicious. The shoyu ahi was fresh, and the Korean fried chicken was perfectly crispy and flavorful. The mac salad and lychee lemonade are a must! The staff were so friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Great food, great service, and definitely worth the price. Can’t wait to come back!

We came in with a group of 3 of us. We were greeted immediately and sat. Everyone was so friendly! The food was absolutely delicious. We all got the pick 2 plate! The Korean chicken was delicious with lots of flavor, but just a tad bit too salty for me. I would still order it again! Spicy Ahi tuna was very fresh and with just enough spice for me. I highly recommend to get their garlin noodles, they were the perfect texture and very yummy. I got their version of a spicy margarita and it definitely had a kick to it, and I absolutely enjoyed it. Overall, I love this place and will be coming back!
