Family members decided to reserve a table and visit Canvas at Lake Nona on Mother's, and it probably was not the best idea. Our table sat at 1:30 pm. We ordered food 15-20 mins and literally did not get our food till about a little after 3:30 pm and restaurant seem to slow down some on top of it by then. Server was good tried to accommodate for very long wait, but kids were hungry and agitated. Food was decent but not worth the wait. Myself and a couple others at the table agreed when should had just gone to I-Hop and save the aggravation, money, time, and would've had good eating.

We unfortunately had a very disappointing experience on what was supposed to be a special first Mother’s Day celebration. We made a reservation for 5:30 PM on Sunday and, upon arrival, checked in and informed the staff that we had a 10-month-old baby with us. The host acknowledged it without much friendliness. After a few minutes, we were taken to our table outside. The issue was that the heat was extremely intense, making it impossible to stay outside with a baby. We tried to stay for a few minutes since we had driven nearly an hour to get there, but the conditions were simply not suitable. We then asked the server if it would be possible to move to an indoor table with air conditioning. He informed us that the manager only authorized high bar-style tables, which clearly would not work for a baby. At that point, we decided to close our bill and leave. The server was polite and apologized. What was confusing to us was that, as we walked through the dining room on our way out, we noticed multiple available indoor tables of different sizes. This made the situation even harder to understand, especially considering this is not a low-cost restaurant and a basic level of customer care is expected. Additionally, next to our table outside, we noticed what appeared to be pieces of a dead cockroach on the floor, which made the experience even more uncomfortable. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience, especially on such an important occasion. I hope this feedback helps future customers be aware.

First time at Canvas, and based on reviews I was looking forward to the visit. We were a party of 7 and the wait time was one hour which is understandable especially on Mothers Day. Luckily there was a cancelation and our wait time turned out to be around 35-45 minutes and were seated around 1:45. We ordered drinks and then the our meals. Unfortunately, we were only able to order off the Brunch menu at 1:45pm which wasn't exactly ideal for Mothers day, but ok we went with it. Food took forever to come out. they had actually started serving the dinner meals by the time we got our food around 3:00. Two of us ordered the biscuits and gravy. Turn out to be horrible choices. There wasn't even enough gravy to cover the top of the biscuits. Plus the egg was unrecognizable. I requested more gravy and a half cup was brought out. Poured that on the Biscuits and started to eat. The biscuits were really hard and very dry, even when more gravy was poured on. Needless to say I didn't eat them. When I explained the issue to or sever, he said ok, sorry and took the plate away. I would have thought he would have asked if I wanted something else, but didn't. So at the end of the day the family ate breakfast at 3pm, and I left without eating all for $246. One thing I really need to bring up is one of the hostesses dropped several napkins on the floor while putting them in a basket. She immediately took the to the main hostess who apparently was told not to worry about it, because she went back, folded them and put them into the basket. A note regarding larger parties (not sure what they consider large parties) ... A additional 20% Gratuity was automatically added to our bill. First and last time!

DO NOT DO THE MOTHERS DAY BRUNCH. Buffet style self serve, you get sat with other parties, now that's not so big a deal, but 1 omlette station for 80ish people, one small table of food, they did continue to replace the food but seemed like they waited til dishes were empty before thinking about refilling them. Waited in line for 25 minutes to get an omlette, only to get to the buffet table and have 5 dishes be empty. Even worse the dishes that were there were cold. This was held at dockside, we have never had issues at canvas but this was a shamless attempt to capitalize on Mother's day. Seems poorly organized, and an afterthought you mother deserves better.

My friends and i visited yesterday (sunday may 3rd) at around 4:20, we were a party of 5, it wasnt so busy yet so we were seated quickly, our server Matias also greeted us quicly, was very pleasant and helpful, it was our very first time there so we didnt wanna take too much of his time until we decided on what to drink and eat but he was super kind and patient and explained the menu all the way through, no issues there AT ALL, he definitely made a great first impression for the restaurant, besides the atmosphere being so fresh and beautiful of course….. now here are all the reasons why i did not give 5 stars, i do read reviews of places before i go but still like to have the experience myself, i believe everyone have a different experience, i’m a server so i know how anything could go wrong, there’s good days and there’s bad days. But i did realize how SUPER SLOW the service is, i dont believe it was Matias because like i mentioned before, it wasnt so busy yet, but i did notice they have runners so i guess its just slow service over all, we ordered alcohol from the bar; that took at least 15 mins to get to the table, my friend ordered a Machiatto and it didnt come with the alcohol so she waited another 15 extra mins for her coffee just to find out they have a different version of Machiatto, so ended up waiting 30 more mins for a Cappuccino in exchange… then food came after waiting a good 35 mins in total, the food didnt come out all at once so there was a good 2 mins in between plates but whatever, then rest of us ordered lattes, but we were done eating and were still waiting for them, we were not bothered but definitely noticed, im not sure what’s going on but really cant understand why the service is so slow even for drinks.. We ordered i believe it was like a fritatta with eggs and bacon and also some nutella donuts for appetizers that were both delishhhh, and for an entree we ordered pancakes, some egg sandwiches not sure exactly what the names were, and the NY steak strip, pancakes n egg sandwiches not bad, Ny steak strip also not so bad but i couldnt help to notice how they either season, or garnish EVERYTHING, i mean EVERYTHING with some thyme or rosemary, idk, something really overpowering, not enjoyable honestly specially on my eggs… bar drinks are nice but need to be just a tad bit stronger, if im saying that it must be true because im not a drinker im a lightweight, im usually good with one drink, this one didnt even tickle me, taste was good though….. i will visit again though, like i said, all restaurants have good and bad days, but for sure need to work on speed!
