If you want to have a great time, this is the place—it never disappoints. The food is excellent, the service is exquisite, and they have the best bartender in Central Florida: Justin. He undoubtedly makes the best drinks. Every time I visit, I’m even more impressed with the place. Again, ask for Justin—he’s the best.
Was invited here by my in-laws for a belated birthday dinner for my husband. The service was phenomenal, the food was so delicious - I have leftovers for lunch tomorrow, yay! It is situated in such a beautiful area as well. Everyone was so sweet and I truly want to thank everyone and let y'all know I'm praying for y'all and want you to know Jesus loves you. Thank you and God bless!
I visited Canvas for brunch today with a 1:15 PM reservation and arrived early at 1:00 PM. Upon checking in, I requested outdoor seating by the lake. The hostess repeatedly told me there were no outdoor tables available without appearing to verify whether any were actually open.
After I continued to ask, another hostess stated that if I was willing to wait an additional 30 minutes, I might be able to be seated outside. I declined the extra wait and accepted the table that was offered. However, throughout our meal I could clearly see multiple outdoor lakeside tables sitting empty. I even took photos at the beginning, middle, and end of our meal, and those same tables remained unused the entire time.
What makes this more confusing is that I was told outdoor seating is first-come, first-served, even for guests with reservations. If that’s the case, I’m not sure why my request was dismissed so quickly when there appeared to be available seating throughout our visit.
The disappointing part is that I recently moved to the Lake Nona area and Canvas was highly recommended to me as a brunch destination. I arrived excited to experience the restaurant and enjoy the lakeside atmosphere, which is one of its biggest attractions. While the food was enjoyable and our server was absolutely fantastic, the hostess experience left a negative first impression and unfortunately soured what could have been a great visit.
I’m genuinely undecided about whether I’ll return, which is disappointing because I had high hopes for making Canvas one of my regular brunch spots.
We stopped by this restaurant to meet up with family and friends. Great lake view and nice upscale-like ambiance. Still had a down to earth vibe though, which is quite nice. My of my pet peeves is stuffy restaurants lol. The service was friendly and relatively quick, considering the size of my party. Food was excellent. Will surely come back, when I'm in the area again. Thank, Canvas.

It’s sad in this day and age that as far as we have come as a Country to find that we still have such narrow minded people that choose to exhibit such separatist, behavior. I had just come from an appointment at the VA hospital(yes I served my Country as a member of the Military )and Googled as place close by to grab a bite to eat and came across this establishment. so we chose to go there. We were greeted and seated in timely manner, however after that things took a turn for the worse.
The waiter assigned to our area acknowledged all the current patrons as well serving people that arrived after us, he passed our table 6 times each time never acknowledging us, no greeting, water, just the side eye each time he walked pass our table.
So much so even the table next to us noticed the blatant disregard. The place wasn’t busy either .After 20 minutes we decided to just leave, no fuss, I approached the host desk and asked for the manager, told him what had happened and his posture was as if it was the norm, no real attitude of surprise. Not to make it an issue of color, but we just happened to be the only people of color in the whole restaurant and the only ones being disrespected, the “math is mathing “in this case.
We came in respectfully and left disrespected.
I hope all my fellow Vets and people that feel that this way of thinking and treatment is wrong hold this establishment accountable. God Bless
