  REPORT #BG-071: We have returned from the jungles of Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. at Universal CityWalk Orlando, and I have important findings for future generations. First, let me say this: our server, Tracy, deserves an immediate promotion to Lieutenant of the Shrimp Fleet. She was phenomenal. Friendly, funny, attentive, and somehow managed to keep four hungry humans alive while navigating what appeared to be a restaurant experiencing controlled chaos. She even quizzed us with Forrest Gump trivia, which immediately turned dinner into a competitive sporting event. Ten out of ten. Protect Tracy at all costs. Now...about the food. I have reason to believe every shrimp, chicken tender, lobster tail, hushpuppy and french fry spent at least three extra tours of duty in the fryer before being granted its freedom. Everything was cooked so thoroughly that most of the flavor packed its bags and moved to another restaurant. It wasn't bad because of the recipes. It was bad because it all seemed to have been cooked into another dimension. For a bill that landed somewhere around $150 for a family of four, I expected to leave whispering, "Mama always said life is like a box of chocolates." Instead, I left whispering, "Did...did we just finance a shrimp's college education?" The portions also felt a little smaller than expected, which made the price sting even more. That said, we still had a genuinely good time. The atmosphere is exactly what it should be: energetic, loud, bustling, and full of people having fun. If you're looking for a quiet candlelit dinner where you can hear your own heartbeat...congratulations, you've accidentally eaten at the wrong place. Final assessment: Tracy was outstanding. The atmosphere was exactly what we hoped for. The kitchen, however, appears to be locked in an ongoing custody battle with moisture and seasoning. Would I come back? Absolutely...but mostly because I'm hoping Tracy serves us again and the shrimp gets paroled a few minutes earlier next time.

  Bubba Gump's is a special dinner experience! The atmosphere is fun, and our server, JP, made us feel like the only guests in the restaurant even though it was busy! He went through movie trivia with us for at least 5 minutes, our cups were never empty, and he checked on us without hovering. The Shrimper's Heaven was awesome, as well as the Bourbon Street Mahi Mahi and shrimp! The only complaint was the shrimp was overcooked in both Shrimp Scampi Pasta dishes ordered at our table.

  Great service! Chris G. was absolutely outstanding! Even during an unexpected power outage, he remained calm, professional, and incredibly attentive. He kept us informed, maintained a positive attitude, and made sure we had a great experience despite the circumstances. It’s easy to provide good service when everything is running smoothly, but Chris truly shined when things got challenging. His friendly personality and dedication to his guests did not go unnoticed. Bubble Gump is lucky to have him. Thank you, Chris, for turning a difficult situation into a memorable dining experience!

  We had an amazing experience at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. at Universal Studios Orlando! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was fun and perfectly captured the spirit of Forrest Gump, and the entire restaurant had a great energy. The highlight of our visit was our waitress, Chelsea V. She was absolutely fantastic! She made the meal so much more than just dinner by keeping us entertained with rapid-fire Forrest Gump trivia questions that had our whole table laughing and trying to remember scenes from the movie. Her enthusiasm, personality, and outstanding service made the experience memorable from start to finish. If you’re visiting Universal, I highly recommend stopping by Bubba Gump. Great food, great atmosphere, and if you’re lucky enough to have Chelsea V as your server, you’re in for an even better experience!
