Oh. My. Gosh! To die for! Authentic tasting, youd think mamma mia from Sicily was in the kitchen cooking. We saw people (multiple) carrying out 2 large pizzas at a time. I had the stromboli sandwich which I requested onions be added. It was a 10" sandwich with the most delicious ingredients and the best bread ever! I did not eat it all but did take the leftover back to the hotel. My husband warmed it in the microwave and had a yummy midnight snack. This was our first visit to Sammys and I promise you it will not be our last. I think we should go there, at the very least, once a week. But Im sure it will be more often than that. Next time, we will be diving into the pizza. It must be really good as many as we saw walk out of there. And lets not forget the service. We had the pleasure of having 2 servers. One was being trained. They both were very pleasant and answered our "first timer" questions. They both joked and laughed with us and we really enjoyed our meals. I was a tad skeptical at first because this great place is not a stand alone but in a strip mall. Sammys proved it doesnt matter where they prepare and serve this great food. It is fantastic! So, if you are ever in Ocala, FL (The Horse Capital of the World) you have to carve out time away from the horses and go to Sammys. You will be pleasantly surprised. Maybe we'll see you there!!

I am a disabled veteran and I have been coming to Sammy since 2013. I have full traumatic brain injuries with piercings. I have a service dog who is very well mannered and labeled service Dog. I was just told by Sammy himself that although my service Animal is completely labeled and Performs a service to catch me from falling during seizures. It doesn’t matter he said is labeled outside that service animals no dogs. Are allowed due to allergies of the other customers. Now, like I said, I’ve been coming here since May 2013 I’ve had weird experiences here however, not weird enough that I would not support a community pizzeria. I have always been very respectful of everyone there and this is not my first time there with my service Animal. I just have a lot of questions right now. It’s a lot of different reasons why he may or may not have wanted me there. I am going to believe that it is due to my service, Animal and that sucks because now I just won’t go there. I am clearly a disabled veteran and cannot go to Sammy’s pizzeria on 200 and Jasmine Plaza. Service dogs Or not allowed that goes against the American disabilities my lawyers will be in touch

First time visiting Sammy's this evening since moving to Ocala and what a treat! The manicotti was delicious, my husband ordered the Italian sausage and peppers sandwich and raved about how good it was (he's picky too!), even the bread with soft butter was good. I got a piece of cannoli to take home for dessert but haven't eaten it yet, I'm sure it will be wonderful! I thanked the waitress and told her to give our compliments to the chef. Steady flow of customers in and out while we were there. Will return to try more! Thanks

We’ve heard a lot of good things about Sammy’s and decided to try it out. It was very crowded with a moderate wait time of 20 minutes. We ordered pizza and a glass of wine. The food was good not the best but good. Here’s the thing…we ordered our pizza and waited, and waited some more and waited. We were told by no less than three waitresses the place was busy, then told any minute, and then, it’ll be right out, yet we waited some more. It became obvious to us that we were forgotten. We sat near the kitchen and saw people who came in after us leaving with leftovers. I understand busy and I understand a mistake but for crying out loud take ownership of it. Comp a glass of wine or something. It doesn’t take much to fix this kind of oversight. Instead of trying to make things right you now have customers who left annoyed and probably won’t go back.

I sooooo wanted for this Italian restaurant to be a winner, especially after reading all of the stellar reviews online but after trying it today for the first time I must say I was quite disappointed. Ordered a large ham and cheese pizza and garlic knots (it's either 5 or 6 in a box) to go. Order came to $26 and change. The pizza was a tad bit on the overcooked side but no biggie as I'm perfectly fine with that most times even though I didn't request it to be well done. The overall taste of the pizza was just bland to be perfectly honest. It certainly wasn't terrible and yet at the same time it was far from great, or even good for that matter. Just ok. 5/10. They were a bit light on the ham toppings as well but oh well. As for the garlic knots they were actually wayyyyy overcooked. The complete opposite of the pizza basically. We had to cook them completely when we got home. Unfortunately they were swimming in butter to the point that's all we could really taste. Major disappointment and I'm not sure I'd ever go back. Live and learn I suppose.
