I’ve avoided Chipotle for more than a decade from a bad experience and swore I will never go to another one. But my wife was craving and asked me to go. So I did today, 4/28/26, for lunch. With very low expectations, I ordered my food. I was surprised by the highly positive attitude of the first person behind the counter. He was very professional, friendly, and made sure he understood my orders correctly. Second person, the sauce guy, was quieter but did everything correctly and quickly. The register girl was also nice and explained nicely where I can get the beverages. Came home and was surprised at the huge serving size after reading many 1-star reviews regarding small portions. I could barely finish my whole bowl, but I did. The food was delicious. I chose the honey chicken and beef barbacoa combo. My wife’s portion was also very generous. The chips were fresh too. Everyone who ordered ahead of me seemed satisfied with their orders. Not a single complaint was made. The place was clean. May be a bit dark, but clean. The place was busy around 1 pm when I was there, but the line was moving quickly. The prices were a bit high as some have mentioned, but the portions were more than enough for a good lunch. May have to try online ordering to see if there are any differences with portions and food quality. But we’ll definitely come back.
Nobody more than me wants this Chipotle to be good. It is near my work, and I was so excited to be able to grab a bowl on my lunch break. After giving it a few months, I have to give it a 2 star review.
First off, and this in nothing they can do now, but the place feels like a prison, low light, and dreary decor.
But what they can do is have better customer service and have a clean restaurant. Numerous times I walk in, and the tables are dirty, trash is not taken out and the counter they use to make food is a mess. I kid you not, I went in at like 8:30 pm, only a few people in the restaurant, and they were out of black beans, regular chicken and hot sauce all at the same time.
Multiple times, I have gotten pork tacos and the pork was fatty, and the grease basically drown the taco. I no longer get pork there, especially if I order online.
That all being said, the food was still good on most occasions, however, the customer service, outside a few exceptions, has been poor. I worked in fast food. I know it's hard to be all smiles and rainbows in a high intensity environment, but many of the employees don't even show the smallest amount of respect. They start with no hi, or how can I help you, but with a grunt and no acknowledgment.
I try to treat every interaction I have with people by being courteous and friendly. But it is so frustrating when you are treated with scorn as you go down the line. Once we I got to the register, the lady could not even understand me when I asked for a tray, after she finally understood, she abrasively walked off and began shouting at others for a tray. I told her it was fine, but she just huffed and did not say anything. Not only was she rude to me, but to her fellow staff.
I urge management to take a hard look at how things are run, do better at training your employees in customer service and maintaining the restaurant.
Because at the end of the day, this is all on you, you are the ones that need to be held accountable for bad hires, poor service, poor training, and a dirty restaurant. I want you to succeed, but ever since Cava opened up next door, I do not see myself going here again until things improve.
