As a local, it's here for the tourists now. Disappointing meals anf service on our last visit. We won't be back.
I thought the food was delicious. However, we were there at happy hour so decided to have a cocktail. They were two for one. They would not allow us to have one cocktail and then get the other one. They brought both out at the same time, even though we requested one at a time The restaurant was warm Therefore our second drink Had all of the ice melted and was just not good anymore. No one at a table for four adults, drank their second cocktail.. I personally have never been to a restaurant that insisted you take both drinks at the same time.

I was really disappointed with the food. The steak had a strange aftertaste that made it difficult to enjoy, and both the fish and chicken were extremely salty. This was definitely not what I expected from a Cuban restaurant. I’ve eaten at many Cuban restaurants before and have had much better, more flavorful and well-balanced meals. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet my expectations

Wow… what happened to this place?!
We’ve lived in the Mount Dora area for almost 10 years, and this used to be one of our favorite restaurants. We hadn’t been in a while, so we decided to come back, and honestly, we were shocked at how much it has changed.
I don’t know if there’s new management or what, but almost everything about the experience has gone downhill. No substitutions. No bread like they used to serve. The food was bland and nowhere near as flavorful as we remembered. And apparently, everything comes with an extra charge now. On top of that, the prices have gone up drastically.
I’m all for businesses raising prices when it’s justified, but when you’re paying significantly more and getting significantly less, that’s a problem.
I really hate leaving negative reviews for local businesses, especially one we used to genuinely love, but someone needs to say it: this is not the restaurant it used to be. You can’t keep taking away what made people love you, charge more for everything, and expect loyal customers to keep coming back.
We used to recommend this place without hesitation. Now, I honestly wouldn’t recommend it at all.
At this rate, I’d be surprised if they’re still around much longer. Mark my words.

False advertisement. Not celiac safe. Las Palmas has become my regular spot. Their menu clearly marks GF options. As a person with celiac, I always let my server know. Today was the first time I was told by the server that my favorite dish mofongo is NOT gluten free despite being marked clearly on the menu as "GF". I have ordered it multiple times in the past couple months and have suffered the consequences, not knowing where I was coming into contact with gluten. The very nice server today informed me that the only truly gluten free options are the dishes that are grilled.
