Tanuki at River Landing is one of those spots that just gets the full experience right. The outdoor patio along the Miami River is genuinely relaxing — lush greenery, a comfortable vibe, and just enough buzz without feeling chaotic. The interior is stunning too, with dramatic woven ceiling fixtures, cascading plants and thoughtful design throughout.
The food presentations alone are worth the visit. The Salmon Truffle Pear and Tuna Crispy Rice both arrived beautifully plated and tasted as good as they looked. The Nigiri/Sashimi 10pc was fresh and generously composed — scallop, shrimp, octopus, tuna, salmon all accounted for and well executed.
The cocktails hold their own too. The Miami Spicy Margarita was well balanced with a nice kick, and the Tanuki Espresso Martini — sipped overlooking the river — is hard to beat as an opener.
Service was attentive and the pacing felt right throughout the evening. At $256 all-in for two with drinks, it's not cheap — but for the setting, quality and experience, it delivers solid value.
A reliable go-to for a relaxed but elevated night out on the Miami River. 🌿🍣

One of my favorite spots in Miami for fusion Asian food. The food is always on point, high quality, fresh, and beautifully presented. The vibe is cozy but still feels upscale at the same time.
You can tell they do not cut corners with the food or service. Everything feels consistent and well managed, especially with co founder Georgio involved and overseeing the experience. The staff is attentive, the atmosphere is great, and every dish I’ve tried has been excellent.
Perfect spot for date nights, dinner with friends, or even a fun family meal. Highly recommend.

One of the worst Mother’s Day restaurant experiences I’ve ever had.
To start, there was a long, disorganized line outside with no staff managing it, even though most people had reservations. It made absolutely no sense.
We waited 35 minutes to be seated, only to be placed outside at a dirty round table that didn’t match the restaurant’s style at all. I asked to be moved inside, and while they did accommodate the request, the manager gave us unnecessary attitude about it. Sitting outside would’ve been a disaster for my family, especially with how dirty the table was and hot.
The one positive: the food was actually good.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to make up for the rest. I definitely wouldn’t return especially after the headache we had with the parking payment afterward. The whole experience felt complicated and frustrating for no reason.
I’ll be sure to let others know to avoid this restaurant.

I came here to get some work done during happy hour. The lovely host told me I could sit wherever I wanted, and they chose a nice table overlooking the water. Then a black man, who I assume is a manager told me to sit at the bar, if I wasn’t ordering until happy hour. I sat at the outside bar, which, for some reason was swarming with mosquitos, I was bit 15 times in 10 minutes. When I asked the bartender if I could move back to where I was before since I wasn’t getting bit there, I guess he told the manager too because he came out spraying some spray that didn’t work. I was there for three hours, and no one was seated where I was sitting initially, and the whole restaurant outdoors was available.
Aside from that, while at the bar, there are three people chatting, and one of them said the N-word multiple times even though he was white. When I told the bartender he shrugged. I haven’t mentioned yet that I’m a black woman, but I am. The folks next to me, spoke loudly about sex and drugs, which I know isn’t the restaurants fault, but I feel like the manager’s energy could’ve been spent better talking to them than moving me around.
The food was OK.
