I didn't get a chance to experience it. It was my 50th, and my man ruined it. We had to leave because he was uncomfortable that someone we didn't know walked up to our table. I was told he was a patron waiting for the rest of his party; it left my man feeling uneasy, but for me, it was my 50th, so it wasn't a big deal. He knew I was looking forward to eating here. We left, argued, went back to the hotel, and flew back out the next day. It wasn't the restaurant's fault, which is why I still rated you 5 stars. I'll be back another time on my own.

I usually don’t leave bad reviews because I’m a server myself and understand how difficult the restaurant industry can be, but this experience was unacceptable. When we were seated, the vibe seemed cool at first. Our server asked whether we wanted bottled or tap water. My friends chose bottled water, but I asked for tap. His response was, “Oh, so you want dirty water? Why don’t you want bottled water?” I thought that comment was rude and completely unnecessary. We ordered lemon drops that cost $20 each, but they were served warm in champagne glasses instead of martini glasses. I originally wanted the crab cakes, but they were unavailable, so I ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach instead. After we placed our food order, it felt like our server stopped caring. He cleaned around us but never checked whether we had received our appetizers or needed anything. After we had been waiting for about an hour, he finally returned and told us they were now out of mashed potatoes. Since I had already ordered macaroni as an additional side, I politely asked if they could substitute the macaroni for the unavailable mashed potatoes rather than charging me extra. He refused, and it turned into an unnecessary back-and-forth. When I asked to speak with a manager, he initially refused to get one and told me the manager would only say the same thing. We had to continue going back and forth before he finally agreed to call the manager. The check also already included gratuity. Because the tip was guaranteed regardless of how we were treated, I felt like our server had no incentive to make the service enjoyable or provide attentive customer service. Between the disrespectful water comment, warm overpriced drinks, unavailable menu items, hour-long wait, lack of attention, refusal to involve a manager, and automatic gratuity, I was extremely disappointed. I understand that restaurants sometimes run out of items, but the poor communication and dismissive service made the situation much worse. I was not pleased with my experience and would not return.

Extremely Disappointing Hospitality Experience We went to Nouveau Miami - Wynwood (108 NW 25th St) on Sunday, August 23rd, to celebrate my best friend’s birthday. Unfortunately, the way our concerns were handled was extremely disappointing and, in my opinion, unacceptable for a hospitality establishment. One of our guests ordered the lobster, bacon & hash. The potatoes were extremely salty—I personally tasted them—and she only ate the lobster, leaving the potatoes because they were too salty. We simply mentioned this to our waitress so the kitchen could be aware for future guests. We did not ask for a replacement, discount, refund, or anything removed from the bill. In fact, we specifically said we did not want another dish. The waitress voluntarily went to speak with management and returned about 15 minutes later saying that management had reviewed the surveillance camera above our table and determined that my friend had eaten the entire dish. This was completely untrue—she ate the lobster, not the salty potatoes. I find it extremely inappropriate that surveillance footage was reviewed to challenge a guest over how much of a side dish she ate when there was no theft, no billing dispute, and no request for compensation whatsoever. We were simply providing feedback. Then there was another issue. My friend and I both ordered chicken & waffles. She mentioned first that her chicken was cold and the chef brought her additional chicken. Later, I tasted my own chicken and it was also cold. I told the waitress that I only wanted my chicken reheated—I did not want extra chicken, a discount, or anything free. Because my friend had received additional chicken, the waitress came back saying the chef believed I was making the same complaint to get additional chicken as well. That assumption was insulting. I even told the waitress that I was willing to have my food simply reheated. I asked if they had a microwave; when she said they used warming equipment instead, I said that was fine. I specifically authorized them to put my chicken and waffles under the warmer. I was willing to wait. Only after all of that did they ultimately bring me a completely new order of chicken and waffles—which I never requested. The entire experience demonstrated a serious lack of active listening and trust. Instead of simply listening to what the guests were actually saying, assumptions were made about our intentions. Restaurants make mistakes. Food can be too salty or arrive cold. That’s not the issue. The issue is how you treat the customer when they respectfully bring it to your attention. We were celebrating a birthday and were not trying to get free food or money taken off the bill. We were actually going out of our way to make clear that we wanted nothing extra. I hope the owners, founders, and upper management see this review and seriously evaluate how guest complaints are being handled. Reviewing surveillance footage to dispute a guest’s food consumption and then assuming another guest is trying to obtain free food is not the level of hospitality I expect from a restaurant in Wynwood. Listen to your guests. Don’t assume their intentions. Treat people with respect.
