I went to The Citadel yesterday evening with my family to spend some time together and get something to eat. The last time I was there, I ate at Manjay and the food was delicious, so yesterday I went directly there to try some more.
Since I’m not very familiar with the names of the dishes on the menu, I asked the young lady taking the orders a few questions, such as: “Is this spicy?”, “What ingredients does this have?”, and “Is griyo pork or lamb?”
Unfortunately, her attitude was very disrespectful. While I was asking these questions, she kept looking at me with an expression that made me feel like I was bothering her or that she was annoyed simply because I was asking about the food.
Every time I asked a question, her response was the same: “Everything comes with two sides.” I replied, “I understand that, but that’s not what I’m asking.” She then just looked at me with the same annoyed expression and didn’t answer my question. At that point, I felt so uncomfortable that I simply ordered the first two dishes that looked good to me based on the photos on the display.
Now, regarding the food: **IT WAS DELICIOUS!** I would absolutely give the food **5 stars**. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the service.
As a business owner myself, I don’t feel good writing a negative review because I understand that a review like this may affect the business owner more than the employee involved. However, this interaction made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome that I couldn’t just let it go without saying something. I sincerely hope the owner reads this and takes the appropriate steps to address the situation.
Again, **the food was delicious and absolutely deserves 5 stars**, but unfortunately, the service I received was not up to the same standard as the food.
