I’m honestly upset because I come to this Dunkin’ every morning and have never had a problem before.
This morning, I ordered my two drinks (medium iced latte no whip and a large iced latte with whip). When I got to my last drink, I said I wanted a “mixed drink.” I was told by the manager twice before that I need to specifically call it a “mixed drink” because it doesn’t come up in the system as black cherry refresher anymore, so that’s exactly what I said.
I said, “I would like a mixed drink, with…” and before I could even finish, the young lady interrupted me and said, “A large refresher?”
I said, “No ma’am, I said mixed.” She then said, “You JUST said large!”
At that point, I had to explain that I actually said “mixed drink,” NOT large. I hadn’t even gotten to the size because she cut me off before I could finish my order.
Then she said, “Have a good day, ma’am.” I asked her to get a manager because I was already frustrated, and there were cars behind me. The manager came out about four minutes later, took my order, and apologized for how the situation was handled.
My thing is, REGARDLESS, PROBLEM SOLVE, NOT argue with a customer!
Maybe the microphone wasn’t working properly, and I understand that mistakes happen. But what really upset me was the attitude and the way I was spoken to. I’m spending my hard-earned money here, and I expect to be treated with basic courtesy and respect.
I’ve never been a problem customer at this location. In fact, I come here every morning. I even have a daughter around this young lady’s age, which is why I’m saying this respectfully: PLEASE TRAIN THESE YOUNG LADIES ON CUSTOMER SERVICE BEFORE HAVING THEM INTERACT WITH CUSTOMERS.
I’m not asking for special treatment. I’m simply asking to be listened to, spoken to respectfully, and allowed to finish placing my order.
I hope management takes this seriously because I really do like coming to this location, and I would hate for one employee’s attitude to change that.
