Food is excellent. Service needs a bit of help. They seemed short staffed for the crowd. The last two times here have been two very different experiences. One time it was short staffed to the point that they closed some of the seating (I think that’s why it was closed, anyway). The last time, however, every seat inside and out was full, and it was so loud and chaotic it was hard to converse or even convey my order to the waiter. The food is excellent; I will just probably try to plan for off-peak hours next time.

I had the pleasure of coming in on Mother’s Day for the first time after hearing some rave reviews and boy did it live up to the hype. The food was delicious but what really made the experience for my mother and I was the service and warm welcome we experienced. We were immediately greeted by a very kind blonde (I think her name was Kaley) and she was very polite with a great smile and immediately made me feel like I was in the right place. Scott and Vinny both checked on us multiple times and made sure we felt like we were the most important people in the restaurant. Even the bussers were on point, immediately getting anything we were done without of our way so we could enjoy the next course! That’s not to mention how great the food was as well but I think more than anything, the excellent service is what made the night for us! Will definitely be returning!!

I went to Hemmingways Tavern for the Mother’s Day special and it was awesome as always! Not only did they have a custom menu for all the Super Moms, but they also consistently dish out 5 star service, food, and the place is always good vibes! Shout out to Jeff best server! The entire staff is usually very welcoming it’s always one of my favorite places to eat in town.
If you want an authentic experience with yummy food this is it!

Dear Management Team,I am writing to share my deep disappointment regarding my experience at your restaurant this past Mother’s Day. I have been a loyal customer for a long time and have frequently chosen your establishment to host important business meetings. However, the service I received—specifically from the manager, Chris—was unacceptable.Despite being told the wait would be an hour and a half, my group waited for three hours. During this time, our seating request was mysteriously canceled at the front desk. When I inquired, Chris was dismissive and unfriendly; he offered no apology or explanation, simply stating he didn't know how it happened before putting us back on the list. After another hour of waiting, we were told our table was ready, only to be seated outside again despite our request for indoor seating. We ultimately chose to stay in the Cafe area just to be served. Throughout the afternoon, Chris showed a complete lack of care and appeared to be seating other parties ahead of us.While a greeter inside was also quite unfriendly, I do want to recognize Mattie in the Cafe and Selina, who were both polite, professional, and attentive. They were the only highlights of an otherwise horrible experience. As someone who has supported this business for years, I expected much better leadership from your management team, especially on a holiday. I hope you will take this feedback seriously to ensure other loyal guests are not treated this way in the future.I look forward to hearing how you intend to address this matter. We didn't enjoy the food the quality of letting the food in a to go was very unclassy for this special day.

What a remarkably efficient way to ensure guests never return.
On Mother’s Day, of all occasions, we arrived with the intention of celebrating as a family, only to be informed that we could not even be placed on the waiting list until “at least half” of our party had physically arrived. Apparently the concept of hospitality now requires a quorum.
What made this especially distasteful was the complete absence of basic consideration for elderly guests. Our grandfather was using a walker, and our grandmother was carrying portable oxygen, yet there was not the slightest hint of accommodation, flexibility, or even courtesy. We were effectively told to stand outside and wait until enough people appeared to satisfy policy.
The host delivered this policy with all the warmth and flexibility of a parking enforcement officer, making it abundantly clear that customer experience ranks somewhere beneath rigid procedural devotion.
One would imagine a restaurant eager for business on one of the busiest family-oriented holidays of the year might accommodate guests who arrive early rather than punish punctuality — particularly when elderly family members with mobility and medical limitations are involved. Instead, we were treated as though requesting to join a waiting list was an outrageous administrative burden.
A thoroughly disappointing introduction to an establishment that seems to confuse exclusivity with discourtesy.
