I’ve been inside there two times, and I’ve only ever gotten Togo ever since then… The food there, from my experience, is usually amazing. However, the two times I’ve been inside were an absolute monstrosity. The first time, my boyfriend and I went in there to enjoy dinner. We were originally seated inside but decided to move outside because it was fairly noisy inside the restaurant. As soon as we got outside, we waited about 15 minutes to be helped by our new server. Off the bat, she was very rude, and the customer service was not there at all. Every little thing that we asked for or needed would result in a huff and a puff. It seemed like we were interrupting her day just by simply eating dinner. We are not complicated people and already know what we like to order, so I’m not sure why that occurred, but we understand that people have bad days. The second time, I decided to return with my boyfriend and two of our friends. This was a few nights ago, about two months after the original visit. We got seated outside, just like the first visit. As soon as the server came to take our drink order, she automatically seemed rude. There was no “hello,” just, “What do y’all want to drink?” We had a different server than the time before. It was a Saturday night, and we understood that it was fairly busy in the restaurant. However, the service was automatically terrible to begin with. Two out of the four meals at our table were wrong, and one of them had to be taken away. Everybody finished their meals by the time he got his meal back. As this was the second experience where we had terrible service and an overall terrible experience, my friend and I went up to the host stand wanting to talk to a manager, just to make him aware of what was going on. He was very nice and understanding at first. He told us he would come by our table and asked where we were sitting. He said he was going to talk to the server, and when he came by the table, he did give us vouchers, which was nice of him. However, instead of saying something like, “Hey, I’m so sorry about your experience,” he said it was probably just a miscommunication. For me, I just wasn’t understanding how a “miscommunication” could genuinely result in terrible service. It seemed like there was no effort from the server. Working at a restaurant that isn’t super cheap, you would think that the workers would be a little more friendly, or at least pretend to care. I will say that I’m giving this place a two-star rating because the food is usually great, besides my last visit when the food was messed up. I understand that it was a Saturday night and that things happen in the kitchen. Someone who has worked in a high-end restaurant, I completely understand that. But one thing I don’t understand is hiring people who are not meant to be servers, who do not have the drive to be a server, or who simply do not have the personality for it. If you’re wanting to try this place out, I highly suggest getting Togo, or hopefully you just won’t have a bad server like I did. The food runners are amazing, and I’ve never had a problem with them or the hostesses.
Thank you so much, and I hope your experience is better than mine was!

Hemingway’s Tavern has, hands down, the best wings in town! They’re always cooked perfectly—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. The atmosphere is laid-back, the service is friendly, and the food never disappoints. Whether you’re stopping in for the wings, a cold drink, or to watch the game, it’s always a great experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for outstanding food and a great local spot!
