Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

I used to live in Zephyrhills, FL & my daughter & I would eat at this location almost every weekend. We were so excited about the one opening in Wesley Chapel area & went as soon as we could. 1st time we went it was very good, 2nd time was a horrible time, I went thru the drive thru, paid for my food no one was anywhere in site, as I sat there at the window the drive thru started filling up & started blaring their horns because it took so long, they asked me to move to a spot to wait for my food, which I did, I waited on the spot they told me to & I sat there for over 25 minutes watching people come & go that arrived after me. I finally got out to go inside to see what was up, they were having some issues while I was at the window which is not my problem, one of the workers yelled at the people beeping telling them they had an issue at the moment. So I stood there inside for another 10 minutes & finally got my food. When I got home I was VERY disappointed because the food was horrible, looked like someone threw our burgers against the wall & picked up off the floor, was not made how we asked, etc. most of the the employees are very rude. I will NEVER go to this Whataburger at this location again.

Ordered through the drive though, got 2 meals, subbed fries for onion rings. After waiting 15 min in the drive thru line I was curbed and waited an additional 20 minutes for my order, during which an employee came out to ask my name for the order and I still waited 10+ minutes after that. After all that waiting, they said they gave me a free apple pie for the inconvenience… which was nice until I get home and find my order is wrong. I didn’t receive the onion rings I paid extra for, sauces were missing from the bag and the burgers were dry. When I called just to let them know, they could honestly care less.

The #5 Bacon & Cheeseburger was good. The fresh lettuce, tomatoes and onion were nice to see for a fast-food place. The bacon was a nice addition to the flavor profile. The burger was a food size ratio to the bun. I rank that particular burger as good. In my personal opinion, it's not something that I would "write home about " as they would say in the past, but it was good. It wasn't a greasy burger so that was pleasant to have for a meal. I would eat it again. The fries I really liked. The crispness was just right for a fast-food food side. They have an overall good flavor without ketchup, though some were eaten with ketchup. The banana pudding shake was really good. Too bad it's a limited time item. I must've arrived at a peak time to eat. The line was backed up outside the door. The seating is limited. You have to wait to get a table to sit to eat. It was loud in the dining area so conversations are hard to have with the person in front of you. Would I eat there again, yes, but through the drive-thru. I will wait for the "newness" of the restaurant to die down a little to go back and try to not go at a peak dining time.

The reviews are mostly accurate if you view them through a particular lens: If you have never been to a whataburger, then this is a worthwhile visit. The food is spectacular, with serving sizes meant for grown, hungry adults. If you have ever been to another whataburger, you will be so disappointed. The lobby is tiny! 12 tables. Good luck finding a seat. Napkins were empty until just before leaving an hour later. Typical rounds with sauces/service will seem familiar until you realize you will never see them again. Gotta use the bathroom? Expect the quality of maintenance of your relative's house that somehow bought a house while you're out there struggling to put food in your apartment plant's pot. Meaning, it isnt disgusting, but the toilet paper roll is on the dispenser, not in it. Aside from that, the staff who were working were all very friendly, genuinely smiling and doing work. For some reason, though, several staff were taking up a table while many patrons had no place to sit. Maybe they were on break? At the same time? With a packed lobby and line around the building? The building is tiny, so there probably isnt a great space for employees to rest...as opposed to a management issue. The longer I stayed to eat, the more positive I feel about the experience, hence the bump to 3 stars for service. These guys are genuinely super busy and kept it moving the entire time (about an hour). Parking is atrocious. Bring a map if you expect to find your way out (if you arent from the area). I wouldn't even enter the parking lot if you are a stranger in this land. All in all, genuinely impressive staff, quality food, but wow what an underwhelming building if you've been to any other whataburgers.

The manager Melissa has no urgency and she SHOULDNT be working night shift if she can’t properly multitask, when our complaint was given to her she had a snarky comment about it “not being their first complaint” as a “joke” This is why the line always takes so long. The drive through people were so nice but the manager basically ran off for like 10 minutes meanwhile we were sitting in like for 40 mins and waiting almost 10 minutes because she ran off while knowing we were waiting on her and and all we needed was a sprite removed from the total. we were waiting on her the whole time meanwhile our food was done and she was already by the window when we asked her for help. The staff are lovely here, the workers are awesome but they need better management staff especially for night shift because 40 minutes in a drive through for 3 burgers and some fries is ridiculous and her attitude should have been that she was sorry but instead she took no accountability for the fact she was making us wait for nothing because staff said she ran to the back of the store after they had already told her we needed help at drive through then made us wait almost 10 minutes on top of the 40 minute wait time. We ended up paying for the sprite just so we could leave. Melissa is an awful manager and terrible manager and took no accountability, wasn’t sorry, and was even snarky after our complaint. She needs to be fired.
