Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
We havent had the pleasure of visiting a WhatABurger since being stationed in Texas over 15 years ago. It was so wonderful to relive those memories. First the employees were efficient and so friendly. The place was SPOTLESS; I mean eat off the floor clean. There are not a lot of tables but a kind man let us sit with him and we made a new friend. The food: Now if you are expecting a gourmet burger, go elsewhere. Definitely top of the fast food chains food. Plus, the menu was simple. They dont offer a huge variety of food but thats good. It makes it easy to figure out what you want and order and they can concentrate on making sure its good.

The food for the most part is good but the service is absolutely terrible. The drive-thru is AWFUL. 10/10 times they ruin your order. You ask for certain customizations and it’s like the workers don’t care. They give you whatever the burger comes with by default. Whenever I decide to go inside, it’s disorganized. Takes forever to get your food. Honestly just super discouraging to go to this location.

I’m going to give this location a lot of grace since it is so new. I’ve mobile ordered from this location about 4 times now and I have yet to be given a straw and napkins with my drink and meal. My most recent trip, I did drive up mobile order. I waited 30 minutes and continually had employees come to my window with the wrong food for someone else. Like they didn’t know the drive up spot? So the person would just go to every single car parked for mobile pick up, asking “did you order xyz?”. Is there no way for them to read what parking spot the person check in at? It was very strange and wasted so much time considering it took half an hour for my one meal. I grew up eating whataburger and will support this location as long as I can, but they have to do better.

Before I explain the 2 stars for service, I want to say that the foods were still very good. No complaints about that. This is my 2nd time at this location that just opened near our residence. 1st time I ordered in person after 10pm as I wanted to check it out, maybe 2 weeks ago? I waited for over 20 minutes to get my food. That was understandable for a new location.
Today, I used the app to order ahead of time, and set for pickup by 9:40pm. I arrived at 9:52pm (place was empty) and I showed someone the order info, he took my bag out of a heater, and gave it to where I believe the deep frying section, and I waited for 15 minutes. How long does it takes to cook onion rings? Burger was already cold when I returned home. Had to reheat it. But I still enjoyed the meal.
Until there are reasons for the longest waiting for a "fast food" label restaurant, I hope y'all improve on the speed from ordering to receiving, that's all. I think I will wait longer to order again. Otherwise, foods were still good both times. This is a nice upgrade from Wendy's and Culver's.

Pretty good burgers. They forgot the cheese I paid for so my husband took the burger back in to add the cheese and two times they tried to hand him a slice of cheese in his hand with no wrapper or paper. Finally he had to ask can you just take the sandwich and put it on there instead of handing me a piece of cheese unwrapped no paper no box to carry out. The food was supposed to be ready at 2:05 and we waited at curbside for 20 minutes. It was cold by the time we got it. The only other time we went it was great but they seem to be having issues and when we asked for food to be made correctly we got attitude.
