A Beautiful Setting with Some Physical Quirks
We recently visited Three Bridges Bar and Grill at Villa del Lago at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. It is undoubtedly one of the more visually stunning spots on property, and the setting right out on the water is beautiful, feeling genuinely hip and chic.
That said, there are some trade-offs for that open-air atmosphere. While we were quoted a 30-minute wait without a reservation, we were seated in just 10 minutes. However, the weather played a role in our comfort; even with fans running, it was quite warm and muggy. Additionally, the table configuration felt strange for a full dining experience—it was comfortable, but didn't feel designed for a substantial meal.
The service, while efficient, felt very rehearsed. Multiple staff members repeated the same line about the menu being "diverse," which felt jarring given that there were only six entrees. To call it "diverse" seems like a stretch, as the menu is fairly standard—a burger, wings, a berry salad, and steak frites—and certainly doesn't have the variety you’d expect from a truly expansive menu. It was disappointing to have the experience feel scripted rather than personal.
We also encountered some strange service lapses. When a Coke Zero was ordered, it arrived in a glass with no ice and was completely flat. It is baffling how a server could pour a soda and not notice it was flat, or why they wouldn't communicate the issue regarding their ice supply upfront. We later learned that a glass had broken in the ice machine, but the lack of basic quality control on the drink itself made for a poor start to the meal.
On the bright side, the Sangria flight is a fantastic value at $25; you receive what felt like four half-glasses, a steal compared to paying $16 for a single glass. I enjoyed all of them, with the Rosé being my favorite, followed by the Tinto. While the lemon-based one was quite sour and my least favorite, they were all delicious.
For food, I had the burger, which was undeniably good. I’ve heard other people claim it’s the best burger they’ve ever had, and while I couldn't find a single thing wrong with it, I think that hyperbole is a bit of a stretch. It was a solid, enjoyable meal, just not a life-changing one.
The Gochujang wings, however, were a disappointment. Our waiter was helpful and suggested they be served "naked" with the sauce on the side to keep them extra crispy, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the wings were aggressively over-salted. Even for someone who generally enjoys salt, they were borderline inedible; they were so salty that they would have been impossible for me to eat. It was a surprising miss for an otherwise enjoyable meal.
