I surprised my fiancé with a trip to Disney after I had proposed, and also surprised her with this tea experience because she had mentioned that she wanted to go here the next time we went. A disappointment is an understatement. We arrived at our 230 reservation at 216 and wasn’t seated until 330. After that the waitress took forever to arrive at our table to welcome us and bring us the tea options. She didn’t offer us any water or anything else to drink we had to ask somebody else for that because she had disappeared. It took forever for the tea to arrive and was never offered any additional tea and had to ask multiple times for another pot. It took forever for the food to come out and it was not appetizing at all. It felt like we had to catch somebody while they were walking around to ask for anything. The last tea pot that they brought us was full of loose tea leaves. It did not feel welcoming at all. Very disappointing end to our amazing trip. If you are looking for a tea experience I would not recommend this one at all.

Food is pretty subpar. We are adventurous eaters, but while it all looks pretty, nothing is particularly great, even the desserts. Scones were the best thing, and they were a fairly dry. We had a 2 adult towers, one plant based and one kid so a little of everything. Plant based is all salty and mushy. One person in our group had to run to the bathroom to spit out the artichoke one. The plant based dessert was overly sweet and mostly raspberry flavored. The cupcake was somehow too sour and super sugary and no one could eat it without making a face. The regular menu was also not great. It almost became a game of who could stomach it. The chocolate desserts were pretty good, but the matcha dessert that tasted okay will stain your mouth green (and your hands and your teeth).
Lastly, our server was not particularly friendly. Our food came at very different times and we ran out of tea with no offer of anything else. We asked for water and there was stuff floating in one of them. It was obvious we weren’t enjoying it but she never even asked what we thought.
The hostess Stacy was delightful and the bright spot of the whole thing. We’ve been to most of the Disney dining experiences, and we definitely think this is the worst we have ever experienced.

Overall it's a very nice experience. I think a few adjustments need to be made in order to make it excellent, in my opinion. The first is there should be a plain scone option. While I thought the scone was good, orange cranberry is a very specific flavor that's just not for everyone. I was also extremely surprised I could not get some raspberry jam instead of orange marmalade. Once again, orange marmalade is so niche and specific that's it's just odd not to have a more basic option. The cheese plate was excellent and the bread/crackers actually stole the show there along with the truffle cheese. The cucumber sandwich was pretty weak but the salmon and curry chicken salad tartlet were standouts. Although it is enough food to fill you up, would it really kill you guys to ask if you wanted a couple of more of your favorite items? For the price, it would have been a nice option to get a second chicken curry even though I was properly full. The sweets were OK but overall a more traditional selection of afternoon tea sweets would be nice. It would also be nice if you had some servers walking around with some sliced cake or other treats like they do at afternoon tea in England. Those little extras would have been going back as a local. But in it's current form, I would probably wait a year or 2 before returning as it just didn't do enough to make me want to run back.

Such a gorgeous remodel! The staff is polite, efficient, AND personable, and I kept thinking they were such a great example of that magical Disney service. The rest of Orlando could learn a lot from these peeps!
The orange scone was perfect, and we got the cheese plate to go with our tea service. Everything was decadent and bougie. Even the gooseberries.

A simply elegant and whimsical way to spend an afternoon. The Garden View Lounge – Tea Experience at Grand Floridian Resort is all plush and no fuss. A time to "waste away" an afternoon with high levels of service, great treats and lots of sips.
For those looking for a very special meal or birthday for a young one, this would be a prime location. There are kid-friendly and plant-based menus alongside the standard drink and fare.
$79 for adults and $49 for kids. We spent two hours on our visit and left feeling stuffed, even without getting the additional food or drink items. I highly recommend a visit, so come dressed up and prepped for adorable fun.
