Our Kaiseki Experience
Ichiju Sansai – A Modern Beginning
We start with ichiju sansai—one soup, two dishes—the foundation of Japanese cuisine. Inspired by the cha-kaiseki ritual of “four bowls,” this course invites you to open each lidded bowl at once and experience the beginning of your meal with all five senses. Seasonal ingredients and careful preparation set the tone for what’s to come.
Sashimi – Pure Ingredients, Skilled Hands
Next, enjoy fresh sashimi that reflects the beauty of the season. We import the best fish from Japan weekly and prepare each cut with expert precision. Sometimes served salad-style, this course highlights the balance between natural flavor and thoughtful presentation.
Hassun – A Taste of the Season
The centerpiece of the meal: hassun, a vibrant arrangement of small seasonal bites. Each dish is crafted to reflect the time of year, both in flavor and appearance. From the colors to the plate itself, everything is designed to bring joy to your senses.
Chilled or Warm Dish – A Moment to Pause
Here, we slow the pace with a gentle dish—either a cool hiyashihachi or a warm, comforting onmono. Selected based on seasonal ingredients, this course offers a quiet, calming moment in your dining journey.
Main Course – Where East Meets West
Our main course brings together Japanese ingredients and French-inspired techniques. This is where tradition meets creativity—where rich flavors, beautiful plating, and a touch of surprise come together in harmony.
Rice Dish – A Gentle Ending
The final savory course is a simple rice dish, such as sushi or ochazuke. It’s light, aromatic, and designed to bring balance and closure to your meal—an elegant return to the roots of Japanese cuisine.
Matcha & Sweet – A Peaceful Finish
We end with a handcrafted seasonal dessert and freshly prepared matcha, made in front of you. The quiet ritual of tea, the sound of water, and the scent of matcha create a serene conclusion to your experience.

I have never been so disappointed in an experience. The food got worse with every course and my two sisters and I were excited to try everything. By the time the last course came I was literally crying at the thought of having to choke it down. I was ready for Ashton Kutcher to come out and tell us we had been punked.
To make matters worse, the water we were served smelled like fish. A small 1/3 glass of nasty smelling water with no ice. And they CHARGED US $36 for that gross smelling water!!!
They said it was a once in a lifetime experience and they were right. I cannot imagine anyone going back there. Save yourself. Read reviews before you go!
Also. Every restaurant in Disney can be cancelled 2 hours in advance. This one has to be cancelled 3 days in advance or a $100 per person charge. Beware. If you have a reservation, pay the $100 to save yourself.

I rarely write reviews, especially negative ones, but at this price point, I feel it is important for guests to have accurate expectations before deciding to spend the money.
I was very disappointed with our experience at Takumi-Tei. For a dinner costing over $650, I expected a true sushi omakase experience focused on raw fish. Instead, nearly every course was cooked, with only one piece of raw fish served. I consider myself to be an adventurous eater; however, had it been made clear beforehand, I would not have even considered booking this experience.
The service also did not match the quality advertised. Our server disappeared for about 45 minutes, and despite asking multiple times, we could not get assistance. There were additional long delays before the final courses and before receiving the check.
When the bill arrived, we were charged for something we had been told was included, and the interaction made us feel uncomfortable rather than accommodated.
At the end of the evening, we were also stopped from leaving because an introduction was taking place. After spending over three hours there, we simply wanted to leave, especially after such a disappointing experience overall.
Overall, the evening felt poorly managed and did not reflect the level of quality or hospitality expected at this price point. After the extended delays throughout the night, being prevented from leaving created an unnecessarily frustrating end to the experience and left us feeling agitated for hours afterward, which should not happen at this level of dining. I would have preferred the fantastic fish and chips in England for under $40 for two people. :)

A wonderful experience to end our trip with!
My husband and I went to Takumi-Tei on our last night at Disney. It was expensive, but the experience was wonderful and made it all worth it.
The restaurant is nice, calm, and quiet compared to the noise that is Disney. It makes you completely forget that you are at Disney! We went on the first day that they were rolling out their new Spring menu. Our server Azura-san was friendly, delightful, and made us cherish our experience with a handwritten note given to us after dinner.
My husband and I both got the full omakase experience with the Sake tasting. Our favorite courses were the "Hassun" (the several seasonal ingredients), the "Shii-Zakana" where we both chose the Crisp Tempura of Japanese Black Wagyu, and the "Matcha and Kanami" where we enjoyed watching our server make fresh matcha and our sweet treats.
Keep in mind that it is a tasting course and you have to be open to unique and different food experiences. My husband and I didn't like every dish, but we knew going in that there were going to be some questionable dishes to our palates but that didn't stop us. I state this because there was another group of guests who were as open as wanted to end their experience early.
Overall a wonderful experience! It makes us fond of our past Japanese travels. I would recommend booking a dinner here as a special occasion or as a nice treat during your stay!

Best service I’ve had….incredible atmosphere. I think the dishes try incredibly hard, but the quality of the fish just wasn’t there for me. If you go, I recommend the four course omakase. There is just so much food and you fill up quickly. This didn’t feel like a true curated omakase “chef's choice" experience, but more of a set-menu assembly. Again, the service was incredible and that made it feel special.
