We were really looking forward to dining at Sanaa, so it was disappointing to leave feeling underwhelmed. As Disney fans, we chose this restaurant for lunch because of its reputation and the variety of vegetarian options. The atmosphere is beautiful, but we were disappointed that we barely saw any animals. The only ones visible were a few antelopes and wildebeest in the distance, which made the experience much less special than we had expected. Our waitress was friendly and did a nice job explaining the vegetarian menu. We ordered the bread service, collard greens, beans, and cauliflower. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to our expectations. The collard greens were so salty that we had to send them back. The beans were just average and lacked flavor, while the cauliflower was simply okay. The waitress kindly replaced the collard greens with the lentil dal, but the lentils were still undercooked and too firm instead of being soft and tender. To make matters worse, our main dishes took a very long time to arrive. Overall, we left disappointed. Between the long wait, the underwhelming food, and the limited animal viewing, the experience did not feel worth the visit. We’ve honestly had much more flavorful and authentic versions of these same dishes at regular Indian restaurants for a fraction of the price.

If you’re staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge or just visiting you should definitely check out Sanaa. It’s the one restaurant that you can view the animals from your table (depending on your table). We were able to see the giraffes and other animals while we ate. The bread service is their most popular thing on the menu. Everyone gets the bread service. It’s very good and unique. It’s fun and a great atmosphere there. It’s also a little more budget friendly than the other 2 main restaurants there. Definitely worth checking out!

Overall, this was an average to slightly above average experience. The Giraffe Mousse dessert was exceptional. The array of breads and sauces was good. The advertised appetizer salad (Salad Sanaa) listed many ingredients on the menu but lacked most of them in sufficient quantities to make the salad memorable. It was basically just arugula with a little dressing and a few toppings. The vegan option our friend had was very good. The service was very good, but for the price, JIKO is a better option in my opinion. It’s better for going out on a date. It’s quieter than this restaurant, which is much noisier and filled with kids with tables close together.

This was our 3rd time here, my wife brought me for my birthday, and it never disappoints. It had been a couple of years roughly the last time we had come here, and the menu had some changes, yet everything, as always, was fantastic. Not only was the meal top tier, our server Joey (Joe) was awesome. He took care of us, made suggestions, and helped us get the best of both worlds when I couldn't make a decision on what I wanted. We started with the famous bread service, different naan breads with 9 dips to choose from ranging from unique to spicy. I then proceeded to get the Lamb Kefta sandwich and it was extremely flavorful and prepared incredibly. My wife got the buttered chicken with a side of rice and lentils. Where I had trouble was deciding whether I wanted the Lamb or if I too wanted a Potjie since the spicy shrimp sounded amazing. That is where Joey came in and was like for a little extra we can add a second protein to the buttered chicken and you can have both. BOOM, problem solved, double protein ordered and wow was it good. This place has it all, this resort has the best restaurants in Disney period and I will live and die by that.

Worst experience for dietary restrictions. My husband was looking forward to going here the entire trip we went here last year and it was excellent. I had a bad feeling once I mentioned I was allergic to certain things and the waiters response was well we have that in almost everything.... We did talk to the chef my food was honestly just okay at best I wasn't expecting much tbh but my lunch at the quick service in animal kingdom was better than the dinner I had at Sanna it took at minimum an hour and half to get our meals... I'm used to waiting for my food because of my food allergies but this was a bit over any other place I had to wait. The waiter was hard to find some of the other staff actually brought us water. At the end we were supposed to have desert but I couldn't tell what I could have the waiter didn't even offer to ask the chef he just said well you can have probably sorbet okay I understand that but I just wanted to know what options my husband could have at the end I just asked for the check because it was getting late and we needed to leave the next day. So we went without dessert then were told to have a magical evening. Here's the thing I'm fairly simple but this was our honeymoon I don't expect much but I'm paying a lot for these meals the least Sanna could have done is try to make this a better experience. Whenever I do return to Disney world I won't becoming here again. My husband and I have food allergies and I also have a child who has food allergies so I don't feel like the waiter especially wanted to deal with us. They need to get better at dealing with them here if a quick service in animal kingdom deals with them better than there is a problem
