A decent buffet meal, but pretty mediocre food--you are definitely paying for the characters. They all look cute in their seasonal costumes, but it can take a while for them to make their way to your table.

Extremely disappointed with our experience at Hollywood & Vine. We came here specifically for the character dining experience, but it was honestly one of the most frustrating Disney dining experiences we’ve ever had. We had to repeatedly ask for Mickey and Minnie to come visit our table. We finally got to see Minnie, but we waited such a long time that by then we were completely finished eating and ready to leave. We paid our nearly $300 bill, hoping Mickey would still come around. Then Mickey literally walked right past our table. I asked for assistance again because my son really wanted to meet Mickey. I was absolutely shocked when I was told that because we had already paid our bill, that was it—and that if we wanted to see Mickey, we should have waited to pay. After spending almost $300 on a character dining experience, I find this completely unacceptable. We shouldn’t have to repeatedly ask for characters or worry that paying our bill means our children miss out on the experience we paid for. This was supposed to be a special Disney memory for our kids, and unfortunately, Hollywood & Vine left us extremely disappointed. For the price, the experience and customer service were nowhere near what we expected from Disney.

We did Hollywood & Vine at Hollywood Studios for a Friday dinner date — character buffet, about $60+ a person. We checked in early on the phone and still waited about 40 minutes total (seated ~20 after our reservation). That was the rough start. Atmosphere: 5/5. Not romantic or fancy — more cafeteria seating, close to other tables. What made it a five was the characters. Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy all came to our table, hung out, and did photos. That turned an ordinary buffet room into something we will remember. Service: 5/5. Our server was nice and attentive. No issues! Food: 5/5. Better buffet than we expected. Standouts for me: the spicy veggie soup, smoked ham with German mustard, and the glazed salmon. Sarah loved the Brussels sprouts, salmon, and corn-and-bean salad. Desserts were strong too — peach cobbler, brownie pudding with soft-serve, cookies. Bottom line: Pricey and the seating is not intimate, but the food quality plus characters made it worth it for us. Both of us gave it a 5. We would do it again for the experience.

The food was VERY salty. It made it hard to enjoy the meal. The children enjoyed seeing the characters.
