First off, this is hands down the best buffet I've had in a long time. The food was incredibly fresh and tasted amazing. The variety was impressive, featuring everything from kid favorites like tater tots, macaroni and cheese, and chicken strips to more elevated options like New York strip steak, shrimp scampi, and fried rice. They even had great sides like baked potatoes, cornbread, and a fresh salad bar. The real magic, however, was the character interaction. Seeing Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto make their way around every single table for hugs and photos made the experience unforgettable for the kids. Yes, it is expensive, but considering the quality of the food and the once-in-a-lifetime memories created with the characters, it was absolutely worth it. Highly recommend for families!

We had reservations at 6:40pm, checked in by 6:37pm and did not get seated till 7:07pm. We were told twice by the staff up front during check in they were “flipping tables” yet there were a bunch of empty sections when we were being walked to our section which was literally all the way in the BACK. Our server was inattentive from the get go. Very dry and did not feel welcoming to begin with. We were there for a total out an hour and 30 mins and only ONE person in our party of 8 got a refill while the rest of the party did not get anything. Our server literally came by maybe twice at that. Other than that we saw the people who come collect the plates more than her at this point. The food was below average, every single time we got up to Get food either there was empty tins or just not available. The carving station for the steak was being served super thin slices per person and just one piece at that. Then to make matters worse we had to hunt down the server to ask for our check while she passed us by like 5 times to other tables. Characters came by but seemed like they were in a rush. We spoke to management and their only solution was to meet for the characters like we didn’t just have a dinner with said characters. Overall terrible experience for the price you pay on top of the automatic gratuity that wasn’t even worth the service we got.

Chef Mickey’s is a wonderful place to take your kids for a meal while meeting Mickey and the Fab 5 characters. The experience is a lot of fun for children, and the character interactions really make it feel magical. One thing to keep in mind is that it can get very crowded and noisy. If you have a child with sensory sensitivities, I highly recommend asking for seating in one of the side rooms away from the main buffet area. Disney was very accommodating with this, and it can make the experience much more comfortable. It is definitely “Disney expensive,” but if meeting Mickey and friends is high on your family’s list, it’s a memorable experience. Personally, I think there are other character dining locations that are even more interactive and fun, but Chef Mickey’s is still a classic and the kids absolutely love it. Another huge bonus is the location — having breakfast there and then walking right over to the Magic Kingdom is incredibly convenient and a great way to start your Disney day!

PARENTS BEWARE: My family and I dined at Chef Mickey on Mother’s Day. My three year old son poked Mickey with his finger and the worker in the Mickey Mouse costume hit him. In addition - changes are obvious. I should have taken pictures. Food was a joke - raw hash browns but burned on the top, bacon with a strange texture, and other cheap dishes without taste. They offered both extremes: super salty or bland - take your pick! Reputation management companies are hard at work here: I have colleagues who posted reviews from their negative experiences and the reviews are not showing up. BEWARE.

We experienced the character dinner at Chef Mickeys! The atmosphere is lively and energetic! We got to meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto and Goofy! Each character was visiting the table and took time to greet the kids and take photos and give autographs! The server also ensured all the characters had visited the table, which I found to be super cool, guaranteeing customer satisfaction! For $60 per person, the meal is expensive. However, the kids had a blast, the food was decent. The environment was fun and energetic. The spread had variety of salads, pastas, pizza, soup, rice and noodle items and a whole variety of cakes, cookies and ice cream. We had a magical experience and would do it again during our next visit! Reservations are surely recommended! (we had one)
