I’m genuinely confused how this restaurant has a 4.7-star rating on Google, because my experience—from the customer service to the food—was one of the worst I’ve ever had at a breakfast restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I felt unwelcome. A young lady with burgundy hair in two ponytails was standing at the front. Her uniform shirt was tied up in the back, exposing her stomach. She looked directly at me but never greeted me or asked if I needed help. She simply stared at me until I spoke first. Moments later, a Caucasian family of five walked in behind me and were immediately greeted with a warm welcome. The difference in treatment was hard for me to ignore. I explained that I wanted to place a to-go order because I was picking up breakfast for my husband, who was at work, and myself before class. I asked the young lady if the shrimp and grits was good. She told me it was their best-selling dish, so I ordered the shrimp and grits for myself and a breakfast burrito for my husband. After waiting about 15 minutes, my food was brought out in a tied bag. When I got to my car and opened it, I was honestly shocked. The shrimp and grits consisted of about six shrimp sitting on a huge mound of plain grits—nothing else. It looked absolutely nothing like the photos the restaurant advertises online. I immediately pulled up a picture of the dish from their own website, and it wasn’t even close. I walked back inside. The hostess was no longer at the front. There was a blonde woman and a man standing toward the back by the wall just before the bathrooms. The blonde woman looked at me and simply nodded her head upward, which I assumed was her way of asking what I needed. No greeting. No “How can I help you?” Just a head nod. The man then came to the front. I showed him the photo from their website and asked if that was what the shrimp and grits was supposed to look like. He said yes, took my plate to the kitchen, and returned a few minutes later after adding nothing more than diced tomatoes and four stale tortilla strips, as shown in my photos. Apparently, that was their solution. At that point, I was already over it, so I left. When I got to my husband’s job, we opened the food and tried to eat it. There wasn’t enough salt, pepper, or hot sauce in the world that could save this meal. The shrimp and grits had absolutely no flavor and tasted like plain water. The breakfast burrito was just as disappointing. The eggs tasted processed rather than freshly cracked, and the sausage certainly didn’t taste freshly cooked. Where I’m from, we call food like this slop. We literally couldn’t eat it. After a few bites, we threw both meals straight into the trash. Paying $37.38 for breakfast that ended up in the garbage is unacceptable. I’ve honestly had better breakfast from Wawa. The disappointing food was bad enough, but the customer service made the experience even worse. From the lack of a greeting when I walked in, to the dismissive interactions afterward, the entire atmosphere felt unprofessional, unwelcoming, and like customers were an inconvenience. I’ve attached photos of what I actually received compared to what the restaurant advertises so people can judge for themselves. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience warranted one. If this is what a “best-selling dish” looks and tastes like, I can’t imagine what the rest of the menu is like. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone. If I could give this place 0 stars, I absolutely would.

Due to the reviews, my sister and I were really looking forward to trying out this restaurant but it turned out to be a big mistake:( The waffle was served about 10 minutes before the rest of our food (no reason, like an appetizer lol), so it was cold by the time the rest of our breakfast arrived. Speaking of waffles though they had a good flavor, they were very dry. I tried to spread my butter and they crumbled to bits…very strange. Moving on, parts of the bacon were burnt (like black) while other pieces were almost undercooked. There was eggshell in my eggs and although I requested over-medium eggs they were cooked over hard. Overall, food quality and timing was just not great. I won’t be returning.

I had the burger and it was pretty good. A little overcooked but I ate the entire thing anyway so that's that. Cranberry mimosa was amazing. Lauren was fantastic, checked on me multiple times and was always very helpful and pleasant. Come to The Toasted Yolk y'all they just need to start carrying Frank's Hot buffalo sauce and they'll be set 🙂‍↕️

We’ve been to this location a few times after our 1st experience at the Fleming Island location. Per usual, we came in hungry. Even though there were a couple of issues/delays with the food, the service was impeccable. Lauren J. was our server and from the introduction to the delivery of the check, she was absolutely awesome! I honestly cannot remember the last time we’ve had such amazing service. Dear management, she’s a keeper - engaging, delightful, eye-contact, thoughtful, great mood and so on. You have a star on your hands. Thanks Lauren 💙

Got seated and it took forever for anyone to check on me. I had to stop the lady at the desk who often went out of her way to ignore me and asked her for a server. Got served by Lauren who seemed to be trying her best, got the food ( OJ coffee and a breakfast burrito) . Food was horrible but i had to eat because i wasnt feeling well. My server, Lauren, came to check on me and i asked for my bill because i was done. The bill has one of those bar codes you scan to pay. I scanned and paid my bill and about to leave but here comes Lauren and this white dude guarding to door like he was gonna tackle me. Yup i saw you and i would have loved to see it happen. Lauren asked if i had paid my bill and i said yes and told her to go and check before i leave. She came back and tried to apologize and i walked out. Never been treated like a criminal in my life but a friend told me as jamaican there are signs i need to look out for - if the place looks run down, the staff is disgruntled and they take forever to attend to customers, just leave! Never AGAIN!!!
