Lubis ain’t been around for all these years for nothing!!!! Always good and fresh!!
This place is a stallwort. A kinda shop you’d expect that douchie spikey haired Guy to visit.
It’s like Skyline Chili and the Philly Cheesesteak had a prequal and I only say that cuz this shop make have been around longer, not sure and maybe someone of a higher authority will set the record straight on that. But bottom line, short of not have alcohol alternative adult beverages, this place is amazing. I ate on site and, pro tip, grab a Dukes Bown Ale from the BP gas station next door and live life!
Pictured is the Beef Stroganoff no mustard no mayo, as those are obligatory to the Lubi. Honesty I think I could eat two of these. It’s like a steamed hot dog bun and they do have tube steaks too. Def recommend this.
Flavorful, quality ingredients. Genuinely welcoming people providing service. Much better alternative to fast food for lunch and Lubi’s is actually faster at putting the food in your hands than fast food.

A Jacksonville Classic That Never Disappoints!
My daughter and I stopped by the Beach Boulevard location this past Saturday, and it was such a wonderful experience. I hadn’t had a famous steamed Lubi sub in a really long time, and honestly, it was the greatest thing ever!
We paired our subs with their fresh, ice-cold cherry limeade, which is absolutely unmatched. The restaurant was beautifully quiet and peaceful, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed mother-daughter lunch date. On top of the delicious food, the staff was incredibly nice, welcoming, and attentive.
If you are looking for a comforting, nostalgic Jacksonville staple with excellent service, this is the spot. We will definitely be back much sooner next time!
⚠️NOT A PHILLY CHEESESTEAK⚠️... And that's ok! First time in Jacksonville and I heard they have a unique sub style sandwich that some have said is "just like a Philly Cheesesteak". So I HAD to make sure it was my first stop in town at apparently the last place open that you can get one. This brought me to Lubi’s to try a few menu items. Today I tried the Famous Lubi, Stroganoff Lubi, and their baked beans and potato salad.
Famous Lubi 4/5 - I'll break down why this isn't really comparable to a Philly, but this is no knock to the Lubi. First, the steamed buns were fresh and soft, but more on the smaller side (think like a split top hot dog bun vs a 10" Philly roll). The protein here is thin sliced sirloin (vs shaved ribeye in a Philly) and the meat was seasoned and flavorful. It was topped with mayo, mustard, fresh diced onions, American cheese and sweet/hot peppers which altogether made for a very good bite.
Stroganoff Lubi 4.4/5 - take everything on the Famous Lubi and replace the America cheese with melty mozzarella.... Then SMOTHER it with loads of mushroom gravy. This is a good mess to get yourself into! Just enough to push the resting closer to perfection.
Potato salad/baked beans 3/5 - nothing crazy, standard country style potato salad and baked beans. Could be store brand, but hey... Decent stuff.
Im glad I got to experience a taste of Jacksonville with the Lubi sub. Just might stop by one more time before my trip is done!
