I had a great experience at O-Ku Jax. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere with a modern, upscale vibe, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The sushi was fresh and well-presented, and we really enjoyed trying a few different rolls.
I’m giving it 4 stars because while everything was good, a couple of dishes didn’t quite wow me for the price. Overall, it’s still a great spot for sushi and a nice night out

This place is very limited with Sushi choices and extremely over priced! $8 for 1 very small thin piece of fish. They also put soy sauce on it before you can decide if you want just the fish. $24 six piece sushi roll. For one person I had 4 nigiri and one roll 1 glass of wine came to$72 . I couldn't even eat my octopus the chew on that was horrible. We wanted to sit upstairs but it was wat too hot, yes we are in Jacksonville but there could have been fans to circulate the air. We ended up downstairs at the bar. I will never go back again. You are literally paying for the rent not the quality of its food!

Overall, we had a great experience here. In the very beginning, there was a small issue with our larger group and the rooftop bar upstairs.
But the staff worked everything out for us and truly did a great job in the end!
I tried several sushi rolls, and as an appetizer the crispy rice with tuna topping is phenomenal!
We will definitely go here again when in Jax Beach.

My girlfriend recently ate there this past weekend and sat at the bar upstairs with some friends from out of town. She told me her experience was very uncomfortable because the bartender was unprofessional by discussing his displeasure with the increase of black and brown people in the restaurant and in Jax speech in general.
Oku Is one of our favorite restaurants so this is extremely disappointing to hear that they would hire someone like this. It is distasteful and disrespectful to the guest. As a person of color, I will no longer eat at this location ever again and if you are someone of color, I advise you to not spend your money here as they do not act accordingly in a professional environment.

We had such an incredible experience here! We were celebrating a friend’s going-away party and had mentioned it when making the reservation. Not only was the food and atmosphere amazing, but the staff truly went above and beyond to make the night special.
Our server, Kayla, was absolutely AWESOME. When a sudden downpour hit, she immediately helped move our table to a better covered spot and even replaced food that had gotten wet from the rain. She was so kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we still had a great experience despite the weather.
To top it all off, at the end of the meal, the staff surprised our friend with a going-away gift. It was such a thoughtful gesture and completely unexpected.
The vibes were 10/10, the service was exceptional, and it’s clear that this team truly cares about their guests. We love this place and will absolutely continue to return. Thank you, Kayla and team, for making a memorable night even more special!
