  My experience with Alex was absolutely unacceptable. I was denied entry and left with the very strong impression that I was being treated differently because I’m gay. The way the interaction was handled felt hostile, demeaning, and discriminatory. What made it worse was the complete lack of professionalism. I was not treated like a customer deserving of basic respect; I was made to feel singled out and unwelcome because of who I am. No one should go out expecting to have a normal night and instead leave wondering whether their sexual orientation was the reason they were turned away. If management takes discrimination and the treatment of LGBTQ+ customers seriously, they should look into how Alex handles guests and whether everyone is actually being held to the same standard. An employee representing a business at the door has a responsibility to treat people fairly and professionally, and that is not what I experienced. I would strongly caution other LGBTQ+ customers about coming here based on the way I was treated.

  The tacos are definitely their speciality. The guacamole is the blandest I’ve ever had. It had so many onions in it and there was no flavor except onion. Save the $20 and get a nice dessert of something instead. It’s very busy inside and not for someone looking for a quiet bite to eat.

  The food was disappointing, and it did not feel authentic to the original Mexican flavors. Unfortunately, the customer service was even more frustrating. Everyone seemed disorganized and unsure of what was going on. We waited more than 15 minutes just to receive menus, and when our food finally arrived, there were no utensils on the table. We had to ask for them after our food was already served. I understand that the restaurant had a graduation event going on, but that should not be an excuse for neglecting other customers or providing such poor service. If the restaurant is expecting a large event, they should be prepared and properly staffed to maintain the quality of service for everyone. That said, I do want to acknowledge that the manager eventually came to speak with us, explained what may have contributed to the issues we experienced, and sincerely apologized. He also took care of our check as a gesture of goodwill, which we appreciated. While this did not change our overall experience, we appreciated the manager taking responsibility and making an effort to address our concerns.

  A group of six of us came here straight after finishing a brutal midterm to decompress and celebrate being done. The atmosphere is loud, bright, and completely perfect for a bigger group. We ordered a few giant bowls of their tableside guacamole to share, which was an absolute hit. I got the chicken fajitas for my main and the portion size was massive. The skillet was sizzling so loud we couldn't even hear each other talk for a minute. Great, fun spot.
