You pay for the experience. Food was fantastic. Best staek in a long time. Right on the water. Only downside was the singer they had that evening was loud we had to talk really loud during our conversation.

Mastro’s made my graduation such an amazing experience. They personalize the menus for you and really treat you like you’re the only person there. Ike was our incredible waiter and he truly made the experience here over the top. The steak and sides were incredible and the butter cake was to die for! Thank you Mastro’s!

I took my family to Mastro's to celebrate my brother’s birthday, and the entire experience was amazing! I had been there before, but it was my family’s first visit. Everyone left very impressed, especially with the level of service.
From the moment we sat down, our waitress, Ashley, was very attentive and incredibly knowledgeable. The rest of the staff was just as thoughtful, going above and beyond in ways we didn’t even expect. We were seated outside on a slightly windy evening, and without us asking, they lowered the shades and even offered jackets to my grandmother and me after overhearing that we were cold. That kind of attentiveness really stood out.
Ashley walked us through the menu highlights, and we started with her recommendations: the oysters Rockefeller and fried calamari which were both outstanding. We also ordered sautéed shrimp for my grandmother, who has a smaller appetite, and she absolutely loved it.
For entrées, we shared the rack of lamb, bone-in ribeye, Chilean sea bass, and jerk-spiced Florida grouper. Every dish was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The sides were generous and perfect for sharing. To top it all off, they delivered a beautiful dessert platter, and every bite was delicious, especially the butter cake.
By the end of the night, my family was already talking about coming back. Thank you to the entire team for making such a special occasion truly memorable!

First time visiting from out of town, and unfortunately, we were not impressed. The food was very bland and lacked flavor overall. My husband ordered his steak medium rare, but it came out well done and had to be remade. The mac and cheese was also sent back because it was bland.
Service was mediocre—we even had to prompt our waiter to acknowledge my husband’s birthday, which made the experience feel less special. When issues with the food came up, no manager ever came to check on the table, which was disappointing.
On top of that, the restaurant was so dark we could barely see our food without using flash. I’ve been to many high-end restaurants, and this was by far one of the worst experiences—especially for what should have been a special occasion. The manager never came to the table after we send the steak back.
Pest problem?!?!?!?!
I never write reviews, but this was truly such a concerning experience, I felt this warranted a post.
To begin, I've been eating at Mastro's in NYC for years, and generally love their food and the experience, but the Ft. Lauderdale location desperately needs new management and oversight. As I flagged above, and most importantly for patron's health and wellbeing, there seems to be a severe pest problem, especially around the bar area which needs to be looked into immediately. It rivals the worst city streets in terms of pests, and I am shocked they allowed this location to fall into such disgusting condition. By the time I saw the pest, we of course left.
But even before the final straw mentioned above, the experience at this location was so poor, that my friend and I were contemplating leaving fifteen minutes in. We had to wait over an hour for our reservation, and the hosts could not have been more dismissive or rude. Again, my friend and I (being from New York) love the Mastro's in midtown, and frequent great steakhouses constantly. I have never been blown off to this degree by any other steakhouse in my life.
If you want Mastro's, please please go to the Manhattan location on 6th Avenue. The rudeness and lack of organization from the staff means you will need to wait an hour at least to be seated here in Ft. Lauderdale, during which you'll be given prime viewing of the pest problem (especially if you walk to the bathroom as I did!). Please save yourself the time and keep your health safe until they redo this location.
*When we finally went to Steak 954 which was lovely, another couple at the bar confirmed to us they never eat at Mastro's anymore for the reasons above as well. Not great*
