Went to Il Mulino for dinner and had a great experience. We didn’t have a reservation but were seated very quickly. Our host, Lisseth, was phenomenal. She was sweet, attentive, and thorough throughout the entire meal. We started with the beef carpaccio, bruschetta, and caprese. Everything was amazing. For my entrée, I had the Zuppa di Pesce, which was excellent with the perfect mix of seafood. Our other entrées were the Rigatoni alla Vodka, Fettuccine Bolognese, and Chicken Francese, and everyone enjoyed their meals. For dessert, we had the bread pudding, affogato, and almond basket. The affogato was rich, creamy, and tasted fresh and homemade. The almond basket was definitely our favorite. Great food, great service, and an overall excellent dinner. Lisseth made the experience even better. We will definitely be back.

I came to Il Mulino to take advantage of their Dine Out Lauderdale fixed price dinner. For $45 you receive an appetizer, caesar salad, fried shrimp, or soup; an entree, beef tenderloin with mashed potatoes and asparagus, salmon, or pasta; a dessert, turamisu or affogato. You also receive a house martini, wine, or soft drink. The caesar salad was good as was the beef tenderloin and I enjoyed my tiramisu. I highly recommend taking advantage of this special.

This place is close to my work, and they have a really good lunch special. I always get the lasagna, which comes with bread, Caesar salad, and ground beef lasagna for only $21. Everything is made from scratch, so the food tastes homemade and they use really good ingredients. It’s definitely my go-to lunch spot near work!

I had an amazing experience at Il Mulino. Everything was absolutely perfect from the delicious food to the elegant atmosphere and outstanding service! A special thank you to Sofia, our amazing waitress that took really great care of us! Her food recommendations were excellent, as well as her recommendations on the wine section. She was always looking out if we needed anything and our glasses were always full. Sofia was super polite and kind to everyone and made this food experience p-e-r-f-e-c-t! Whenever you come, ask for one of her tables, I’m sure you’ll have the amazing opportunity to meet her joyfulness and discover the exquisite food this restaurant serves. As for my personnal recommandation (and of course, Sofia’s), you have to try the fettucine bolognese, it’s to die for. We’ll definetely be coming back !! :)

I’m a little reticent to write this review for Il Mulino - they’ve always been a really popular Italian Restaurant and I’m afraid even more people will want to go there after I rave about them. Ah… but then I remember that they never used to take reservations. It’s the reason we started going there less and less often - it was so crowded and the wait times were often over 45 minutes. BUT… now they take RESERVATIONS!!! YAY!! And they honor their reservations - our table of four arrived right on time for our Saturday night reservation and were seated right away, even though there were several people waiting that didn’t have reservations. And they were BUSY. The food. THE FOOD! Homemade pastas, sauces and pizzas, as well as seafood, beef and chicken items. They now even have a PLANT-BASED menu!! Unbelievable, especially since I’m vegan. They still have the old favorites on the menu, but they’ve added so much more. From the vegan menu, I tried the Pizza Rossa with sun-dried tomatoes, portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions, cannellini bean purée and vegan mozzarella - SO GOOD!!! My husband (a meat eater!) tried the special sandwich called an Anelli, of which they have four types and in which pizza dough is wrapped around a juicy filling. I know what you’re thinking… no, it’s nothing like a calzone - so much better. He had the filetto - beef with onions, porcini mushrooms and mozzarella. It came with a side of cheese tortellini and he was in heaven. Our cousins shared a house salad, braised short rib rigatoni and the whole wheat linguini with broccoli and not a morsel was left on their plates. They took an Anelli home to share the next day. The atmosphere is comfortable, the service was great - Lisette our server was attentive and perfect, we were never rushed, and the food is even better than I remember it being - back when they didn’t take reservations. They have a plant-based menu as well as a Petite menu which has smaller portions of the same favorites, although when you taste the food you’ll wish you had ordered a larger portion! Cocktails were also terrific - a perfect gin martini, a yummy basil-strawberry sangria and a few excellent glasses of wine. We are back to making Il Mulino our regular place!
