- AHAngela Ham5 days ago1.0We've been to many of the Bubba Gump locations over the years, and it's one of our favorite restaurants. But - This was the worst experience by far. We arrived early evening and it wasn't very busy. We are Landry's members and were seated right away. However they seemed to be short staffed. Our server was taking care of most of the tables and also tending the bar. We were there for my daughter's birthday and I mentioned that to the server who said they would do something for her. They didn't. Nothing at all. Not even a simple "Happy Birthday". The menu was small and didn't include everything the other locations have. The food was very bland and just not very good. We drove over an hour to take our daughter to birthday dinner and it was overall a disappointing experience. We won't be returning to this location.
- ELEdith Lezcano6 days ago1.0Ordered the Southern Seafood Boil and after waiting almost an hour for the meal, I was very disappointed that the shrimp and crabs were so overcooked that it was hard to peel, shrimps were stock to the shells and they were hard to eat. Waitress never stop to ask us about the meal, we have to ask for something so I can crack the crab legs. Terrible experience overall and won’t be coming back again. My father in law was looking forward for the Forrest Gump experience and the movie wasn’t even playing.

As I continued to wait for the beer finally someone other than my waiter picked the beer up stirred it up with a straw then had the bartender to add more beer to it. She brought it over and I refused it. Not sure why it set for so long then on top of that she stirred it up before bringing it over. 🤔

Flash forward probably 10 years, and this is a dark, dusty, box seafood place. It was definitely not worth the $100 plus we paid, and we didn't get anything fancy. On the bright side. The staff were amazing, really friendly and nice despite the place seeming to be short staffed. It is on the list of old restaurants that need to be over and done with.

Then their idea of a fix was to dump it back in a community fryer after we already had our mouths and fingers on it. It came back out hot but fried to a crisp where we could not eat it. We ordered the seafood feast and the shrimp platter and the Mac n cheese appetizer. The coconut shrimp was gross and undercooked. The hush puppies browned on the outside and doughy on the inside. The tempura shrimp and the fish were undercooked. They asked if we wanted it recooked and after the calamari incident we said NO. They told us they were training a new cook. This is unacceptable. The food never should have made it to our table. The only thing edible was the Mac n cheese and the fried shrimp was decent. This was at 115 in the afternoon and there were probably 6 cars in the parking lot. Our bill got discounted from 95 to 40 which was basically the Mac n cheese, a kids drink, an ice tea, a water, and 1/2 of one of the platters. We also left a 20 dollar tip. This is the only restaurant we picked during our 5 day stay in Destin and I wish we would have chosen something else.
