We have been regular customers of The Sea for approximately two years, and until recently, we had no concerns regarding the quality of the food.
However, the quality has noticeably declined. On our second-to-last visit, we ordered two dishes. In mine, one of the ingredients (possibly cucumber) had an unusual, unpleasant taste. In my child’s dish, there was also something off with the fish. We barely ate and left shortly after, as our child became quite upset.
On our most recent visit, the issue with the fish occurred again — which is entirely unacceptable for a sushi restaurant. Even our child, who normally enjoys sushi, noticed that something was not right with the fish.
For accuracy, we did not eat half of the roll as stated in the owner’s response — each of us tried one piece and could not continue. The issue was not the cream cheese, but the fish itself.
I would also like to note that we have no complaints about the waitstaff — they were polite and professional. The concern lies specifically with the quality and preparation of the food, as well as the manager’s response.
Rather than addressing the issue, the manager chose to suggest that long-time customers should not return — a response that is, at the very least, unusual and unprofessional.
The owner’s response simply diverts attention from the core issue.
After two unsuccessful visits, we see no reason to consider returning.
