- KFKim Frohlinger1 day ago3.0Lousy brunch menu. Only 1 omelet option, no substitutions. So I had 2 Sunnyside eggs, 2 smaller slices of Rye toast, fruit cup. $17! No potatoes, tomatoes. Still, my friend enjoyed her eggs Benedict. I'll try again for dinner.

We went for dinner, and between the food, service, and overall hospitality, it was a great experience. One thing that really stood out to me was seeing the general manager actively walking around and checking on different tables throughout dinner. I LOVE seeing management present and genuinely engaging with guests, especially during a busy dinner service. Our server, Aisa, was also great, and I appreciated the recommendations from both her and the GM. The Oysters Rockefeller were recommended by both of them, and honestly, some of the BEST I’ve had in a while! I’m not someone who enjoys an overpowering garlic flavor, so I really appreciated how well-balanced everything was. We also tried the shrimp and crab gumbo, Frutti di Mare, the special fish, and the Delray Beach Roll. There’s a reason that roll is so popular, and I can definitely see why! Another thing I appreciated was their zero-proof drink selection. I had the Ginger Peach Refresher, and it’s always nice to see restaurants offering thoughtfully crafted mocktail options. We finished with the banana cream pie. My recommendation? Head there early, especially for dinner, because it does get packed! They also have a great happy hour worth checking out. Between the seafood, menu variety, and attentive hospitality, City Oyster is a great choice for a night out in Delray Beach.
- BFBlake FoxSep 3, 20264.0Had a great experience overall at City Oyster! The food was very good, the fish tacos were perfect, and the bento box was also really good. The only small issue was that the rice was a little overcooked/bitter, possibly because it came from the bottom of the pot, but overall the meal was enjoyable. Our waiter, Davon, was beyond excellent. He was extremely nice, attentive, and provided great customer service throughout our visit. He definitely deserves recognition! My only criticism would be the customer service and professionalism when staff members don’t realize customers are watching. When we walked in, one of the first things I noticed was a hostess on her phone, and there were also employees at the sushi bar looking at their phones. So, essentially, the first three employees I saw were looking down at their phones. I completely understand that work can get boring, but from a customer’s perspective, those first few seconds walking into a restaurant really shape the first impression. I also noticed staff eating in the back of the restaurant. I completely understand that employees need breaks and time to eat, but I do think there may be a better, less visible place for that if possible. Overall, I would absolutely come back. The food was good and Davon was fantastic. My biggest piece of advice would simply be to focus on maintaining the same level of professionalism and customer service even when staff members don’t think anyone is watching. Those small details can make a big difference in the overall guest experience.
