Went for Mother’s Day lunch and was disappointed. Staff/Service was available but not attentive, lots of empty tables waiting for reservations. We went for a 25 min walk with 1pm reservations and still so many open tables. We ordered Guacamole and Corvina Ceviche to start. Guacamole had no taste sadly. Ceviche was ok. Ordered both of the Dorados with Shrimp and both were not great. Maybe the tacos would’ve been a better choice? Tortillas were soft and cold, chips sparse Branzino was very good. Not a great experience. Menu and staff need attention.

Honestly the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. First we had a reservation at 7:30, didn’t get seated till about little after 8, then waited about 20 mins for our appetizer order. Then they brought out food one by one (no biggie) but never got my food , 9:30pm and still no food. They told me my plate was sent to another table while everybody else at my table for their food. The manager should have stepped up and helped but instead chatted at the bar. Will say the watermelon Margarita was really good but service sucked and the tuna ceviche was trash for $26. Will NEVER come back to this place. Terrible experience overall. Do not recommend.

I didn’t really care for my chile relleno…but aside from that, the food was pretty good overall. The disappointing part of the visit was the bar. The cocktail menu had a margarita section with a bunch of different types of margaritas—including one I ordered called “The Old Fashioned”. I was expecting something smoky, interesting, with aged bourbon or mezcal type flavors that was reminiscent of an Old Fashioned. Nope. It turns out that “The Old Fashioned” wasn’t a reference to the classic cocktail. It was just a traditional, normal margarita with nothing special about it. It seems that ‘Old Fashioned’ is simply used on the menu to mean traditional, basic, or plain. But think about that for a minute…when in your ordinary life have you used the word ‘Old Fashioned’ to mean plain or traditional? If you see the words ‘Old Fashioned’ on a cocktail menu are you likely to assume it refers to the classic cocktail or to the idea of ‘traditional’? I don’t know…I felt it was misleading. But I drank it up anyway and didn’t want to make a fuss. Next, I wanted to try some Mezcal. I asked to see the menu. Nope. There was no menu. The waitress assured me that they have over 150 different bottles of Mezcal. She invited me to come look at the collection. But, I was there with a toddler, an infant, a dog, and my exhausted wife. With trips to bathroom, getting water for the dog, feeding the baby, and dealing with spills and other surprises, we were just holding it together. I don’t want to be wandering around the restaurant picking out my mezcal any more than I want to be wandering around the kitchen picking out my entree. Mezcal—a spirit in which the very best quality is often unbranded, produced by small landholders and villages, and which is made from a host of different varietals of agave—is particularly important to see on a list. What varieties of agave are used? Espidin? Tobla? Etc. This is often just as important, if not more so, then the ‘brand’ if it has one. And what can you expect to pay for it? Giving up trying something new, I tried to name some Mezcals was familiar with. They didn’t have any of those I mentioned, the waitresses told me. I guess that is why you have menu, so customers aren’t stuck naming random Mezcal companies when they try to order. I eventually gave up and just had water. But the whole thing was annoying. It was like a partially functioning restaurant in which the guy who manages the bar dropped the ball.

I came to Coral Gables with a group of friends on Friday to see the new art installation, Cielo Tejido. We decided to stop here for dinner. The wait for a table was not as bad as I had anticipated. Once we got our table, they brought us chips and salsa. They were so good that we ordered more chips. What I did not like is that they charged us for the extra chips. To drink, I tried the kiwi lychee margarita. It was very good and refreshing but you could not really taste the lychee. To eat, I tried the enchiladas suizas, which may be the best enchiladas I've had. The service was great. The only time we had to look for the server was when we wanted to leave and had to ask for the check. The option of valet parking is also great for this busy area. I absolutely enjoyed my time here and absolutely loved having a table right underneath the new art installation. I definitely need to return and have the amazing enchiladas suizas again.
