Outstanding food here. We started with crab cakes and some of the best chicken wings I've ever had... with a delicious dry rub. The whisky smashed burger was delicious too. Might be our new favorite place.

My friend’s birthday happened to fall on Cinco de Mayo, and after seeing a post about a curated meal and tequila pairing experience ($110 pp), we decided to make a reservation. When I called, I mentioned that we would also be celebrating a birthday.
From the moment we arrived, everything was beautifully done. Jason and Casey were incredibly warm, attentive, and welcoming. They made sure to check in often, chat with everyone at the table, and ensure the entire experience felt special and well cared for.
To be honest, the entire staff was phenomenal. The restaurant went above and beyond by having the entire restaurant sing happy birthday to the birthday boy and to top it off, he was gifted a bottle of Don Julio for his birthday which was such a thoughtful touch.
The food was prepared exceptionally well, and the drinks were strong, flavorful, and delicious.
Overall, it was an amazing experience from start to finish, and I highly recommend this establishment for a great dining experience, celebrations, or a special night out.

Worst dinner in the area so far. Smash burger - I’m not sure they understand what a smash burger is….maybe go down to steak and shake and study? No bacon jam on the burger so the whole thing was dry but also soaked buns from the veggies I presume. Bread pudding was ice cold, and presumably from Sysco and not at all made in house.

Let me start by saying that no amount of words could ever satisfy our overall experience. God bless the hands that prepared our food. $150 well spent. And I’d pay double if I got this quality food and service anywhere I went. George our server was such an amazing man. So gentle, kind, helpful and just a great man overall. The food? 1000000/10. We got the short rib crostini small plate, wedge salad, bistro onion soup, steak frites and short rib ravioli. Every last meal was worth every penny! In quantity, flavor and presentation. My goodness I can write for hours. You MUST try. Thank you all for coming through last minute accommodating us with a chocolate slice with a lit candle for my husbands birthday. God bless you guys and this business.
I've been looking forward to trying Root and Branch for a couple of years and finally had an opportunity last night for my birthday dinner with my family. It was the absolute worst dining experience of my life. The server, George Demas (at least, that was the name written on the receipt, he never actually introduced himself) was rude, incompetent, lacked knowledge of the menu, and was condescending for our entire visit. When we ordered drinks I asked for a lemonade for my daughter. The server curtly said, "No. We don't have lemonade at all here," and left the room without offering any alternatives. When he returned I pointed out that house made lemonade was listed as a mixer on the cocktail menu and he rolled his eyes and said, "Okay yeah we have it but only for cocktails." I asked if they have juice or milk and was told there's nothing. When my husband pressed him he finally said "We have apple juice, does she want that?" Why on earth would you not offer apple juice when I asked about juice options? He seemed bothered by the presence of our child from the start, which I could understand if she was disruptive or rambunctious, but she calmly sat in her chair for the whole meal. If you don't want children at your establishment you shouldn't have a kid's menu. The bourbon cocktail I ordered was fine, my mother asked for gin in her martini and received vodka. She still drank it, it was okay, but not what she ordered. The food was atrocious. I ordered the pork wellington. What the menu claimed was pork tenderloin was overcooked to the point of chewiness and dry as a bone while the pastry was only partially cooked and was raw and gooey in some spots. The lemon chicken they replaced it with was also dry and bland but slightly more edible. I did agree to a to-go box but ended up throwing it away when I got home because the idea of choking down any more of the tasteless chicken and noodles made me gag. The chicken tenders had a nice light breading but both the chicken and breading lacked flavor even with the "hot" sauce, which was really, really mild. The vegetable of the day was limp and oversalted. The mashed potatoes that accompanied the train wreck of a wellington were actually decent, I'll give them that. The ice cream we ordered for my daughter was so hard that you couldn't get a spoon through it and tasted freezer burned, not what I would expect from$9 ice cream. Although I had been looking forward to tiramisu all day after looking up the menu online, after the horrible dinner I didn't have enough faith in the establishment to risk dessert. I've had better food and service from quick service and fast food than I found at Root and Branch. While I don't expect to find Eleven Madison Park level cuisine and service in Clermont, FL, I do expect a slightly elevated experience from a restaurant that markets itself the way Root and Branch does. I've never been more disappointed in a restaurant experience than I am in Root and Branch.
