I had a deeply concerning experience at your store today. I stepped in during a walk, looking forward to purchasing a donut.
I walked in with my big smile ready for a sweet treat. 😋
When I walked in, two young male employees glanced at me, frowned, and turned their backs. I stood at the counter for over seven minutes without receiving a single word of acknowledgment.
Shortly after, another customer walked in. The employees immediately greeted her warmly, apologized that it might be a wait, and assured her they would be right with her. The stark contrast in treatment was unmistakable.
Based on the obvious differences in our appearance, it was difficult not to conclude that bias played a role in why she was shown immediate courtesy while I was completely ignored.
After roughly eight minutes, one of the employees (Nicar I believe he said his name was) finally addressed me without making eye contact, asking in a dismissive tone, “What do you need?” as if my presence were an inconvenience. When I placed my order, he appeared disoriented and attempted to place a completely different item in my bag without asking. When I corrected him, he responded with attitude and informed me you were out of what I requested.
Rather than simply letting me know up front which I would have completely understood he handled the situation with hostility and gave me uncomfortable, judgmental looks while holding my order.
No customer should be made to feel unwelcome, mistreated, or looked at with disgust simply for walking into a business. I expect a basic level of professional service and respectful treatment for everyone who enters your establishment, and I hope this feedback is addressed directly with your staff. Worst service in my entire life
