This was my first time visiting this pizza restaurant, as I had heard it was a Tampa staple. Unfortunately, my wife and I were extremely disappointed with our experience.
I’m not sure if the new ownership has changed the way the food is prepared, but the pizza we received was some of the worst we’ve had in Tampa. The pizza was extremely greasy, and the dough was clearly undercooked. It was supposed to be a New York-style pizza, but what we received was a floppy, undercooked mess that was honestly not edible. The chicken Parmesan was just as disappointing.
We visited on Sunday afternoon, August 16, and unfortunately regret spending our money here. Looking back, we probably should have asked for a refund.
There are simply too many great pizza restaurants in Tampa to settle for an experience like this. Based on our experience, I would recommend finding another option.

5 stars all around! We had the double decker pizza and would highly recommend! The staff couldn’t have been any nicer! We were visiting with my son, daughter-in-law and grandson. Our grandson has severe allergies and they were extremely accommodating. Since we were the only ones in the restaurant, they also tailored the music to entertain our grandson, playing all of his favorite songs! Such a friendly family atmosphere. We will definitely be returning the next time we are in town.

Absolutely amazing! Everything about our experience at Babe's Pizza was outstanding. The service was incredible—friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in.
The pizza... honestly, it's probably the best I've ever had in my life. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the ingredients tasted fresh and high quality. The Double Decker pizza was the absolute highlight and is an absolute must-try. It was unique, perfectly cooked, and simply unforgettable.
My kids absolutely loved the train that keeps running around above the dining area. They couldn't stop watching it, and it made the whole experience even more fun and memorable for our family.
If you're looking for exceptional pizza and outstanding customer service, Babe's Pizza is the place to go. We will definitely be coming back!

Extremely Disappointed by the Lack of Professionalism and Reliability
To say we are disappointed would be a massive understatement.
According to both your website and the sign on your door, Babes Pizza is open on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. With that information, my family and I arrived at 11:00 a.m. with excitement and anticipation. We had chosen Babes Pizza to celebrate my mother's birthday. Although she is no longer with us, we wanted to honor her memory at what was always her favorite place.
Instead, we were met with locked doors and a "Closed" sign.
We waited until 11:10 a.m., knocked on both the front and back doors, and called multiple times. No answer. No explanation. No employee in sight. Nothing.
What makes this particularly frustrating is that this wasn't just a casual lunch stop. We made a deliberate choice to spend a meaningful day at a restaurant that held special memories for our family. To arrive and find that the business could not even adhere to its posted hours was embarrassing, inconvenient, and incredibly disappointing.
Frankly, this experience speaks volumes about the standards under which Babes Pizza is now operating. If a business cannot be trusted to open when it publicly states it will be open, it raises serious questions about every other aspect of its operation. I couldn't help but think that perhaps this was a blessing in disguise and a sign that neither the service nor the food would have met the expectations we once associated with Babes Pizza.
It's sad to see what was once a place filled with great memories become a source of frustration and disappointment. This experience has made it clear that our family will be creating new traditions elsewhere.
I'm genuinely glad that others seem to be enjoying the restaurant under the new ownership. Unfortunately, we never even got the opportunity to find out for ourselves. It would have been nice to simply walk through the doors, be welcomed, and enjoy a meal together in memory of someone who loved your restaurant.
Instead, we were left standing outside a locked building, wondering what happened to the standards that once made Babes Pizza a place worth coming back to.
Sincerely,
Richard Martin, M.B.A.

The food was still good. Walked in for lunch on a Friday at noon with no one insight. Didn’t see anyone when I walked in until I discovered the owner or cook (not sure) sleeping in the booth, and the other server behind the counter, sitting down wrapped in a blanket, she had to wake him up. I had to reach over the counter and ask to be seated. No music was on, it was dark, tvs on- no sound. Got seated, served drinks, and placed our order. While waiting for our food I heard something over at the door. It sounded like they locked the door, but when I looked back I wasn’t sure what they did. It comes time to check out and leave, I goto the door and I can’t get out. The sever comes over and says “wait wait wait” and reaches to the top of the door where a lock was undone. And to top it off my son and I fought off gnats the whole time. We needed up using one of ranch dressings to catch some and used the other to eat. Ended up with 5 in the ranch. Anyways, good food, but I’ll never go there again.
