Flemings UTC is absolutely amazing! We went there last night to celebrate our friends’ wedding anniversary. It was our first time dining there. Our server, Rachel, was absolutely phenomenal. She was very friendly, accommodating, and gave us extraordinary service. My husband and I have never experienced a kinder or more pleasant server in our lives, and we have been to many restaurants in the past. Rachel worked relentlessly to create a magical night for our party of 6.
As for management, they are top notch. The manager came through to say hello and check and see if everything was to our liking. Our food selections were extremely tasty, and we can’t wait to have our next delicious meal there. I highly recommend this dining establishment.
Thank you Flemings UTC for a fabulous experience!

So I really have mixed feelings about this Fleming's. I truly love the Tamiami location here in Sarasota. This is the University Town Center location. It is realitively new (2 yrs) in our neighborhood. I had gone once with my partner for My 51st birthday right after it opened. The celebration was fine. The meal was pretty good. I keep the complimentary photo on my desk as a reminder. Mostly, a reminder of how expensive it was. When my mother decided to take us out for sunday dinner the other night, she decided to make a reservation here. I personally thought it was a bit gratuitous for a Sunday dinner. I warned it would be expensive. She responded with "just be kind on my wallet", with a laugh. When we arrived it was the same contemporary soft earth toned design I remembered. Classy but a little boring. We were served cold water upon checking in with the hostess as it took about 10-15 mins to be seated. (It was not busy). Our waiter was cordial, if not a bit rushed. We were seated drinks ordered bread arrived. We were there with a family friend whom we haven't seen in quite some time. Maybe we chatted a bit more than normal and meandered through the menu lazily. On the third time our server asked in 15 mins (yes about the same time we waited to get seated) if we were ready to order. My mother and our friend both in their 70's asked a few questions about dishes and dicussed. We then decided to share a family style table order. (All meats shared) It was a 4 person special that had been presented to us when we sat. The waiter seemed annoyed with our selection. Proceeding to give us clipped answers and really no recommendations for much else. None of this was concerning to me. I didn't think anything of it. Our meal was good. Conversation was fantastic. We ordered desert and coffee. Spent 2.5 hours in total. When the bill came. My mother made her tip and tally. I think my mother felt the same thing I did about the reaction of the server and seating time. She left a 15% tip. Standard in usual cases. Maybe a little light for fine dinning. But, agreeable to such circumstances. This person came up to my mother and accused her of adding the total wrong. In fact made a public display at the table over it. My mother assured him she had added correctly and the total was correct. It was absurd and embarrassing. Mind you, My mother is not rubbing Penny's. We have dined at some of the finest establishments in the world. We both live in University Park. This was literally Sunday dinner. No big celebration or tomahawk ribeyes. We were being considerate. I really was turned off by this treatment. The meal is already in my opinion expensive, but I would say not overly expensive. But that may change my mind the next time I make a reservation for a steakhouse.

The two bartenders (see my favorite bartender below) had a noticeably stern and unwelcoming demeanor. They seemed jaded and treated customers more like an inconvenience than guests . I feel like I was scolded for having my purse on the bar. Service was slow and interactions were curt, which really detracted from the experience at this spot. I've had the younger bartenders here before who are quite kind, professional and welcoming. I'll be sure to come back when they are there. Plus I think they bring in a younger crowd. Please let the younger bartenders work more! Paulina (I think that's her name) was awesome. Update Paola is her name. She's fabulous and welcoming .

We were here to celebrate our 22nd Anniversary on 6/22, while coming to Flemings for special occasions has become a yearly tradition. We loved the special treatment we received with the champagne & photo taken of us, the signed card from the staff, & the mini box of truffles. The seafood tower was delicious. We had a wonderful server named Tracie. She was so pleasant & very attentive. We never had oysters before, & she suggested what to put on them, which made them taste amazing! We will definitely ask for her as our server the next time we come. Everything we ordered was superb. We have never been to any other restaurant where the staff treats you like royalty, & the food is always spectacular.

My family and i dined here for the first time on Saturday celebrating my daughters 8th birthday. And boy are we glad we chose this restaurant. Upon approaching the front entrance we were greeted by the staff whom had already stepped outside to open the doors for us. The hostess checked us in at which time we engaged in a lovely conversation with whom we later learned was the manager by the name of Nicole. She ensured us that our dinning experience would be unlike any other, and trust me she did not fall short. Food was mouth watering and drinks were delicious. The restaurant was rather crowded, however Nicole & her staff were extremely attentive. She made us feel as thou we were the only patrons that evening: The birthday dessert with sparkles for my daughter was over the top which we absolutely LOVED. And we received a framed picture of my daughter which was captured when the dessert came out. We will definitely return again in the future. Kudos to Nicole and her staff. Keep up the great work!! #makingFLEMORIES!!!
